This Oilers team is what we thought they were though... slow, hurt and rusty af. Whatever the strategy was that they Oilers management and coaching were trying to run with heading into the playoffs, it's in shambles.

Skinner's a jokeeeeeeee in net.

This team is out in 4, if they keep playing like that nonsense.

IT'S THE PLAYOFFS, GENTS. START PLAYING LIKE IT IS!

Guarantee should McDrai go supernova and win us this game, people will point out that Skinner won this game. With his sparkling 5ga and .792%

If Skinner gives up one more goal. Put pic in. First goal wasn't on Skinner but the second goal was. He needs to be on a short leash

Looking at the slow-mo replay of that PP goal BROWN never even once looked at his man. Too busy cross checking a random other player rather than covering his man. Get him outta here already

That's nuts that Brown was benched after 1 minute of ice time, so now we ride 5 guys into the ground to start the series. What the hell was Knob thinking putting him in the lineup?

Knob was a master of picking players and adjustments right up until he decided to pair Nurse and Ceci again in game 1 of the finals last year, who ended up looking like goofs chasing players on a rush to start the series off in the worst possible way. All downhill from there.

And Skinner being in net makes no sense at all. The guy that has the brutal season and the team always gets demoralized in front of, gets the start... Knob is a moron.

Another blatant trip missed, but whatever. LA wants this more than us so it doesn't make a difference.

Flush it (and Josh Brown) and come back for game 2. At least I don't need to stay up to watch the rest of this garbage. Night all.

There was no other option but to start Skinner in net, even if he hadn't got a shut-out to end the season.

Pickard is a 30-something journeyman backup. You can't win a Cup with him. He's been mediocre against good teams, and struggles in back-to-back starts. Skinner has been dreadful for big parts of this season, but if we're going to go anywhere then we need him to be on his game. He's the only one with even the potential to win us 16 games.

Knoblauch though...I do have some issues. He is all about safety and low risk, but that leads him to make a ton of really iffy moves. Way too much Janmark, no matter how little he is able to contribute. Brown was just a terrible decision today and the last thing we needed was another game where we play with a depleted blueline.

Frederic doesn't look great tonight either. I question whether he's healthy.

The team really needs a goal though. It's been 7.5 periods without beating Kuemper. We need to push the pace here a little, and could really use any kind of spark.

Ugh. And we're scored on again.

You always say this - but what the help has Skinner done to earn that much rope? He’s literally the worst playoff goalie in NHL history. Probably even moreso after tonight. He’s garbage.

I would have no problem starting Pickard game 2. Win and stay in.

We have not won series the last few years because of Skinner. We’ve just managed to out score his mistakes.

Hey - I was all for getting another goalie so that we have an option. I would have loved if it wasn't ride-or-die with Stuart Skinner...but the organization decided we'd rather have a handful of games of John Klingberg instead...

Still waiting for this team to look like they think they belong in the finals again. Been waiting all year. Same meek fragile defeated looking team we've watched all season, hoping for some McDrai magic to salvage the game.
