The Oil Kings beat PA last night to go up 3-1 in their first round series last night. Should the Oil Kings close out the Raiders it means we'll get what should be a fantastic second round series with Gavin McKenna and the Medicine Hat Tigers. I strongly recommend going to these games if at all possible. Gavin has been playing out of this world in the playoffs.. and with the new college rules in the State he might not come back next year.

Series is far from over. It's coming back to Edmonton.

I thought the Raider looked really bad last night. I'm not saying they can't win, but my goodness did they cough up a lot of pucks in the D zone.

I don't know why McKenna would go play in the NCAA for one season for half the number of games.. he'll be playing NHL in year one.. 2026-2027 season.

He's a generational talent.. everyone should go see him play in the dub if they can..

He's already going one or two in the draft. So why play a full WHL schedule plus playoffs riding the bus out of Medicine Hat when he could go to, let's say Ann Arbor, and get NIL money? I'm not saying it will happen, but I did make a point of seeing him in Edmonton just in case. I was kind of surprised Medicine Hat wasn't awarded the Mem Cup next year for this reason alone.

I think he gets more game/ice time.. and closer to an NHL type schedule.. including travel.. he'd be more prepped for an NHL season IMHO

He'd waste half his season getting adjusted to a new city, environment, teammates, coaches..

.. and who wouldn't mind the opportunity winning a Memorial Cup :)
