Busy week for Oilers management:
- signed Damien Carfagna Monday. Smooth skating, puck-moving 23-year old defenceman with 28 points in 38 NCAA games this year. 14th highest d-man scorer in the NCAA this year and also 14th on PPG.
- signed Josh Samanski today. 6'5 23-yr old German center. 24th in DEL scoring this year with 14-26-40 in 52 games.
- signed David Tomasek today. 29-yr old Czech who led Swedish HL in scoring with 24-33-57 in 47 games.
This is critical work for a team who's traded a lot of their draft picks. Need to find other routes for acquiring talented players. It's worth noting that other contending teams have charted the path on this. Chicago brought in Panarin from Europe, Boston brought Torey Krug in as an undrafted NCAA signing.
I'm curious to see if there's another one out there for us yet.
"Thinking that a bad team's best players are the reason the team is bad is the "Tambellini re-signing Lennart Petrell" of sports opinions." @Woodguy55
