J.Skinner goal.

If we can prevent a McLeod goal it would be a sign we are able to defy the hockey gods.

It's such a travesty that people who just want to watch a hockey game get subjected to principes face and haircut.

Skinner crazy slow reading that play. Never got in position to give himself a proper chance to save.

Low confidence Skinner has significantly downgraded mobility.

really sick of 93 being gifted a spot in perpetuity on this pp. Brings nothing to it.

This team does NOT want to get the division lead. Just slacking arse out there. Making Buffalo look good is pretty inexcusable.

Bouchard has been bruuuuuttal in this one. How in the world would anyone think this guy could be $11M on his next contract?

If the Oilers pay anything more than $5M for that chronic train wreck, I'd be so disappointed. I hope Klingberg comes in and takes the role away from him.

Overall, I like him as a player, but I agree he has too many brain farts. Too many turnovers and sometimes his awareness just isn't there. It's so frustrating

He has been terrible today for sure.

Do you think games in January or May/June are more important?

Would be nice to see 29 start to make an impact in the one offensive category he doesn't move the needle - empty net goals

A couple of answers to that question. I get what you're saying.

If it was a small sample size, I wouldn't be as concerned about it. It's the consistency of the play and the body language that he's showing right now that worries the hell out of me about the playoffs. I don't think that the playoffs version of Bouch is so much about him as it is about Ekholm ramping up his play to an extreme level and demanding more from Evan. I would be so frustrated if I was Bouchard's playing partner, trying to guide him and help shape him, only to watch him continually blow it. Ekholm is going to tune him out at some point and I think it's already happened; we should be seeing the growth in Bouchard's game by now and Ek is evidently not breaking his back to save him like he did before. He's expecting more from him.

The second answer is that the Oilers are going for the divisional and conference lead right now, to help control their fate as much as they can. Incredibly, they can win these games without exerting themselves... so if they AREN'T exerting themselves, how is it even possible that he's making these mistakes? Use your brain more and your body less, Evan! Most of the Sabres Grade A, 10 bell chances came off of Bouchard gaffes or bad defensive reads. If they want that div and conf lead, they need to play smart hockey, not Bouchard hockey.
