Beauty.

Defensive clinic.

Saw mostly good from young Philp.. faster than I realized.. played good position.. few turnovers.

Nice to see Hyman without the fish bowl.. 2 G's :)

Perry just messing with the Canuck plugs.. fun to watch.. loved how in the scrum with Garland.. Perry has Petterson.. then sees Hughes coming.. so he drops Petterson and steer wrestles down Hughes like a rag doll.. awesome.. then Tocchet sends out all the plugs to try and fight him and he tells 'em all to FO.. he'd of killed them in a scrap.. but it was better that he refused .. let them go home with the rag doll of Hughes still hangin' out there.

Nice play by Kapanen on his goal.. quick reaction to the rebound.

Poor J. Skinner .. struggling mightily.. can't seem to keep up to the pace.. not very effective with getting/retaining puck possession.. glad they only signed him for a year.. it was hoped he'd be a top 6 option.

regarding Canucks..Petterson was invisible .. that $11.6M x 8 isn't aging well.. probably a boat anchor since day one.. 3 more years after this one.

Read that I'm like, what the. I live in mostly Canucks land here, didn't think he signed it 4 or 5 years ago. Had to look it up. This be year 1! rofl

Elias Pettersson is signed to a 8 year, $92,800,000 contract with a cap hit of $11,600,000 per season, currently playing for the Vancouver Canucks. His contract was signed on March 2, 2024, and expires at the end of the 2031-32 season, when Pettersson will be 33 years old.

Wow, TJ Pilsner until 2030 too, and he will be declining the whole way there now. GM in tough to get any value back moving one or both of these guys.

Did Garland finally give into peer pressure about that massive turtleneck neck guard? Noticed he had a thin little white wrap around his neck last night.

Maybe was some good opportunities for some circumcision themed chirps at him last night.

Perry is such a beauty. I'll never understand the complaints (and there were a lot) about that signing. Essentially league minimum and the guy does everything as long as he's used correctly he's a massive difference maker. Grabbing Hughes and giving him the Mcdavid treatment and doing it in a situation that only got him an offset penalty was just too sweet.

29 leads the league in goals by a mile, 1 point back in points and +27 with 9 gwg.

He was a great singing. A vet like him just knows how to win and how to get under players skin. He does everything right. Glad he is on the team

Also Leon for MVP. It's not even close right now. He's playing out of his mind

I never had an issue bringing him back, but though his contract is close to league minimum, I think it should BE league minimum. Every dollar counts and when you pay 3-400K over league minimum for each guy on your 4th line, it impacts what you can do throughout the rest of the lineup.
Josh Brown, million a year......... terrible.

I think he earned his salary just last night. Hyperbole? Maybe. But I love it.

Watching that last night, I bet there's a lot of Canucks secretly hoping this team doesn't make the playoffs. They're already checked out. They have the skill, but there's nothing behind it. Guys just don't care enough to give that extra bit needed in the NHL to succeed.

what I found really interesting was during the 2nd period, Jack Michaels starts in about something in the dressing room not being as bad as it's being portrayed and Debrusk shut him down very quickly, more of less confirming that the dressing room is a mess. Gee, I wonder where Louie got that information from? confused2 I wonder if Jake is wondering what he signed up for.

Who would have ever predicted even a few years ago that Corey Perry would become an Oilers legend? Had the whole Canucks team crying last night.

Lots to like about that game.

Didn't see the 3 stars, but I would have given one to Perry. He was living rent free in their heads the entire second half of the game.

Loved that EVERYONE on the ice went after Garland when he slashed that puck in Pickard's glove.

How good has Drai been in Connor's absence? Oh right, he only looks good because he gets to play with McDavid. Dude has been an absolute monster this season, now just 1 pt behind McKinnon, with one less game played.
The thing I'm liking the most about his game though is that he's really focused on his two-way play. No more coasting back on the back check, or coasting to the bench. Seems to be keeping his shifts shorter too, which is something that always annoyed me about him. Oh, and he's quit taking those selfish slash / crosscheck penalties that he's been guilty of in the past too. We're so blessed to have both him & Connor.

Perry with the greatest PK in history. Dupes Canucks plug into dropping his gloves, taking 2 minute penalty, negating the pending Canuck PP.
