It's funny. The one thing the NHL could do to solve this problem is the one thing they absolutely would never try. Just call the rulebook. I think we can all agree we don't want to see McDavid cross check people in the face, but we also don't want to see him being forced to cuddle in the middle of the ice. The solution? Call the rulebook. They have no trouble using the rulebook sometimes, for example when players cross check the face off of some poor chump, but those cross checks probably don't happen if other parts of the rulebook had been called over the past week.
Probably deserved 2 games, but what do I know? Hopefully he goes to Hawaii or something for the week.
