I remember absolutely hating Dallas like a nail hates a hammer, despite the fact the Oilers beat them (and the Avs) once. Now? I don't really care about the Kings. Cute team, not a rival.

I agree. The last series, despite the win, wasn't fun hockey to watch. The only solace I have is knowing somewhere there is a young Kings fan who hates my team as much as a younger me hated the Stars.

I think the worst of it is that the Kings have decided that they can't really compete with the Oilers so they just try to make it a slogfest full of hooking and holding and various muggings, secure in the knowledge the NHL will never have its referees call the rule book in the playoffs, and that even if they do take a few penalties, the officials will feel obligated to call an almost equal number back on us.
The last couple of years with the Kings it's basically been about just hoping our players make it through the series without getting hurt.
On empty nets - the Oilers only have five all season as an entire team. Their goals/60 5v6 must be worst in the league. It's pretty incredible how bad we are at that.
