Should have won. Did win. Never easy though!

Outside of the 1st ten mins (as usual) the Oilers were the better team and it wasn't as close as the score would imply.
Oilers had more shots, better shots and for the most part controlled the flow of the game. A couple rough ones by Pickard is the only reason this one was close. In his defense he made some good saves down the stretch.
Bedard was made invisible. The team did a good job of giving him little room to load of that release of his.
I expected a much worse game after this rough stretch of games. Lots of travel without many days off. They have been all over the map, literally.

Great night on out of town scoreboard. Rangers and Flames did us a favour.

Cory Perry is having a sneaky good season.. guy is $
Pod is playing a very solid game.. puck rarely dies on his stick .. keeps the play alive better than most of the forwards .. and one of the rare Oilers that is able/willing to separate opposition players off the puck with a hit/contact.. and plays a very smart positional game.. not the fastest.. but he's usually in the right spot on the ice.. he's been a pleasant surprise.
And Leon.. the guy has taken his game to a different level.. I used to be critical of him, because he would the hold the puck and not move his feet.. he'd nullify himself by standing still.. he's totally reversed that now.. he takes the puck and moves it.. always moving his feet.. causes chaos in the offensive end for opposition defencemen.. creates way more scoring chances.. his new contract looks like a steal.
.. for a guy that looks so young.. ageless.. his play looks more like an aging vet.. not as fast.. weak puck possession.. for a guy playing with the best centerman in hockey.. you'd think he'd have worked on his one timer.. so many times he gets perfect set ups in the slot and then always needs to stop it and then shoot.. never a single motion.. goalie gets the extra second to come across and block it.. happens every game.. same on the power play.. That's the one thing McDavid could use.. a winger with true one-timer/quick release ability.. he's got Leon on the PP.. but not 5v5.
