Is anyone actually excited for this, or does it just feel like some second-rate tournament the NHL is trying to show down our throats? Like who at the end of their career will be talking about their 4 Nations tournament medals?
Just do Olympic participation every four years and we will be happy.

This has kind of been my feeling. Since it is just NHL players and limited to 4 countries, its not like it is best on best for any teams except for the US and Canada. Mostly this just feels like the NHL is trying to get the players to try harder than the All-star game, but as an International Tournament it is the biggest joke they could come up with, and I am just hoping that no one gets injured. The less Oilers that play the better.

I'd have this than the all star game. I think mid-year is better than the old August Canada Cup schedule. I'm not excited, but I'll be paying attention.
