Oh, look, Bouchard with some horrible defence.

Edit - Luckily didn't matter

Shots are 5-1 and no real flow to the game either way. I think they look just fine.

He has been beat twice, and one didn't count. Did you see the handful of good saves he made? The guy is never going to win a Vezina but at least pretend to be objective with your scapegoats.

He was scored on, two more were called back, and Devon freakin' Shore beat him but clanged it off the post.

The goal and the one called offside I will give you.
Getting shoved into the net and the puck goes in has is not getting beat, it never has, never will and this is just a silly thing to say.
Have you always counted posts as beating a goaling? Grant Fuhr has a great saying on players hitting posts. When you are mad at our players for not doing well do you give them credit for posts hit?

You sure do bend the rules of logic to be negative. I asked another poster on here, and I mean this genuinely, when was the last time you enjoyed watching an Oilers game?

That was me that you asked. We are fans and we can be negative; why can't a person call out Skinner for a .786 save percentage in this game so far, and an .877 on the first quarter of the season?

Those are abysmal numbers that even the worst backup goaltenders don't normally see.

Skinner's been awful this year behind a suspect D.

It's not just being negative... it's just factually true that he deserves some flack.

100% he deserves criticism, or as you put it "some flack" I dont think we need to bend over backwards to make up reasons why he isn't good.
His angles are off a lot, he overplays pucks leaving him out of position, once every couple games he lets in a goal that a 7 year old would save.
That seems like enough, do we need to pretend the other team hitting posts or scoring called back goals is worthy of criticism?

I don't mind criticizing, but when there is ZERO positive comments I start to wonder if some people actually like watching hockey or if they just spend most of the game angry while missing all of the good, fun things that happen.

Some people are negative almost every GDT.

Some people are angry almost every GDT.

I’m a bit of both.

It is funny how some of us get and at different times. I am much more critical, sarcastic, bitter, angry (all the negative emotions) after and between games.
While watching I am mostly positive, except in the worst of situations, like 7-0 type situations.

He's also the worst goalie in the history of the playoffs! lol and they score again..I actually think it's a bit odd how often Skinner gets defended in this market. Mostly by media talking heads though.

On the plus side he is probably paid about appropriately confused2

Stetcher and Brown looking like fish out of water there. This is an odd game. Greasy, bouncy plays all over the place.

I wonder if the Oilers will ever shake this pattern of regularly playing sub-standard hockey against Minny. 41 wins and 62 losses against this franchise all-time, not counting the North Stars.

Why does Skinners play remind me of Mike Smith the way he ends up on his gut after making a save. Not impressed.

Forget about Skinner, what we really need are some NHL defensemen. Today.

Wild (no pun) that this is an organisation that decided they could afford NOT to pay Phil Broberg.

Threw away potentially 5-10 years of Broberg and Holloway, but kept Perry around for one season into retirement.

It seems like the Oilers are giving up way more rebound goals this year than most teams. I don't know if this is bad rebound control, bad goalie positioning, or on the skaters not clearing players and pucks from the crease.

Whatever it is, this is an area they should be looking to clear up immediately. They cant make Skinner into Hasek or the D into Lindstrom but it I think this is a spot that the current personnel should have the ability to improve on.
