Oilers need to bear down on their opportunities in this one, and turn this skid around. Underlying metrics show that they should be doing much better at scoring, and that puck luck will likely turn around soon... hopefully tonight?
The bigger problem is team D and goaltending. If both don't improve substantially, teams will continue to feast.
And the biggest issue is the commitment of our top six to actually playing with intent and focus. The team needs more from them with respect to finish and commitment to defensive coverage, and WAY better body language from McDavid.

0.815 PDO in all situations. Didn't compare that with other teams, but that's gotta be near the bottom. 3.2% shooting percentage also, which is absolutely ridiculous. Eerily similar to how we started last year...

Yeah - it's early. It sucks. Would be way more fun if they were just pummeling teams right now, but it is what it is. We have some things to work out in our game, and eventually luck has to go in our direction. 3 disallowed goals in 3 games isn't great either. Zero issue with two of them - you could see in real time that it was going to be a problem - but the Perry "goaltender interference" was ridiculous.
We've certainly not had the easiest go with the officials either. The reffing in the Calgary game was awful.
Anyhow, we could be better, we still have holes, the goaltending has question marks, the defence is going to need an upgrade at some point. All that is absolutely true. But it's also very early and I don't think anyone needs to panic, or over-analyze McDavid's media availabilities to read between the lines.
Fact is, it is tough to go from Game 7 Winner-takes-all for the Stanley Cup, right back to Square One. That takes a toll, and the team is going to be fine and they're going to win a lot more than they lose this year.
Hopefully we can come out flying in this one. And it should be fun to see Michkov's first game in Edmonton too.

Defense and goaltending and depth remain an issue.
Please do not feed the bears. Feeding the bears creates a dependent population unable to survive on their own. Bears.

Impossible, we have been up against the cap for almost a decade straight. There's no way we have that many holes still.

So, I haven't been able to watch the last three games, but other than hearing how bad Nurse has been, what else is going on?
Should be able to tune in tonight
