RIP Johnny.

So awful, one day before his sister's wedding.

That is absolutely devastating and traumatic for the family. Two brothers in their prime of life taken away in an instant. Life is not fair.

Horrible news. Some word that the driver who hit them may have been driving drunk.

The Columbus Blue Jackets really have had way more than their fair share of tragedy, between the fireworks-related death of Matiss Kivlenieks, to the deflected Espen Knutsen shot that killed a fan and now this.

Has to be pretty traumatic for everyone involved.

This is just freaking crazy. It really sobers one up to see how quickly a tragedy like this can happen out of nowhere.

Terribly sad for all involved. The Gaudreau family hit so hard with the loss of two family members and a day before a wedding of their sister... gut... punch.

I feel also for the Blue Jackets franchise too losing a special player who went headed home to be closer with his family, just terrible.

RIP Johnny Hockey.

Can’t imagine a more nightmare situation for the family. Losing your brothers the eve of your wedding. Tragic.

So easy to get home without drunk driving in the world of transit, taxis, ubers, e bikes, annoying motorized scooters.

Someone needs to develop a device like a breathalyzer that is hooked up to the vehicle's ignition system. If someone is over the limit, the vehicle doesn't just fail to start, it locks the owner out until a special code is entered by the car manufacturer. This would seriously help cut down on the number of morons who drive while drunk or high or both.

He passed on the left of first car.

The second car was giving the cyclists space driving in the middl of two lane roae, and the idiot decided to swerve from left lane around the right side of second car. When it happened.

And the idiot in question was (get this) annoyed he had to stay in jail for the week before he would get first hearing.

Lock this drunk disgrace up and throw away the key. Society is just better without these people in it.

Events like this are incredibly tragic. I have nothing but the deepest condolences for his family, Flames, Blue Jackets, and everyone that ever cheered for him.

RIP Johnny Hockey
