Hunter and Jason Botterill being the main names that pop up looking for GM rumors has me worried :)
Can't seem to stop seeing Kane rumors that he is out. More than Tracy Lane, lol. Also rumors that he came into this season out of shape. Think Gregor said it on his show. Also that Kane was skipping practices even when healthy.
Did he really do it to a team that gave him a long term deal a third time? Know many like him and his presence on the ice when he is on, but guy has a looong history of making it clear he is mostly about the money. Even providing lots of instagram proof himself in Winnipeg.
Chance of a sports hernia probably ramps up with poor fitness in high level sport. Really do wonder if it was Kane refusing to deal with the extra effort needed to get surgery and deal with a difficult rehab mid-season to be 100% for playoffs, knowing the team would be on his ass the whole time. Could have wanted to just ride it out and just take it easy in the summer after surgery. If we do dump him, maybe a story leaks one day of what the heck happened this year, cause it still makes no sense at all.

Would love to keep him and Brown (at a cheaper rate obv) on the roster, assuming the dollars make sense. Can't see either of them costing too much.

As great of a finals he had, this is silly.
Flexibility is key when it comes to depth guys. There is no sense hamstringing yourself for a guy who had 4 regular season goals.
Clean house or bust

4 goals in 72 games regular season. 4 goals in 25 games in the playoffs (2 SHG).
There was some crazy stuff going on in the playoffs with our PK. I feel like PK miracles are not something you can just take for granted and think will just keep happening because. So much momentum and luck combining forces in our favor all at once.
Just like not taking for granted McDavid and Bouch both having once in 3 decade point production in the run, to mask how weak our depth and bottom 4 D were most of the way. We need to be prepared to win very different ways next year. I really hope we don't overpay for PK miracles. Florida had 7 forwards with 14+ points. We had 4 forwards with 9+ points. You can guess them, they are all on the PP.
Level headed GMing with a real plan to create a more balanced and productive team is badly needed right now. Not falling in love with a collective 40 minutes of PK time.

One thing encouraging so far is that if there are some potential trade talks going on with the Oilers.. management has it buttoned down like a vault .. no leaky rumours floating around.. so far

I’m guessing JJ has cut out whoever was leaking to Bob and Tracy. This is usually a fun speculation and rumour filled time of year, but this year it’s crickets.
… less fun, but maybe a good sign that the organization is more professionally focused and not less side antics.
Illegitimi non carborundum.

Yikes. Thanks for the info Oscar.
The Oilers have the wrong ideas for this offseason. Seems they are intent on going status quo when there are lots of areas for improvement. What we really needed was:
- Move Ceci and Kane contracts
- Find a top 6 winger for Draisaitl - nvm hello Arvy
- Find a 2RD
- Improve depth scoring
None of what we need is happening. Who is running the show here? Surely the analytics team knows Ceci can’t be back.

Perry official. Janmark was the first one my guy thought was done but he’s had more money from other contenders. Still possible he comes back 2x1.5

I'm guessing they are going to be working on moving out Kane and Ceci so that there is room for Broberg and Holloway plus some space for someone else.

Jeff Skinner talks. Henrique unlikely according to Lowetide and his speculation.
Interesting watching people come in, but I’m more fascinated by the players we should be moving out.

Just for fun, would love to see a Kane-Drai-Skinner line. What happens when a line plays no defense at all? :)

What are you hearing? You are basically our Mike Commodore, without the NHL pedigree or bankroll (that I know of).

Interesting. Will he start the surgery on the 1 year anniversary of when the injury issue started? :)
Hope we can work it so he is back for game 1 of the playoffs, after 1-2 solid months of full participation in practice so he is in game shape.
Still remains one of the strangest injuries ever. Stan Bowman strikes me as the kind of guy that would be happy to shamelessly game the cap and LTIR for us. Fingers crossed.
