We know what we need, we know what to do to get it...
Another collective performance from the players, coaching staff and the fans will pull us though. We can't expect the Oil to just turn up and win because of what we've done in games 4 & 5, we have to come out and play the whole team do. Let's get the result and move on to game 7, the job is only 50% done so far.
If game 4 was loud, let's make this even louder and for longer, let's make this building so loud that they can hear it in Florida.
Take me home, country road
to the place where I belong
to Alberta, to see the Oilers
take me home, country road

Game 6 of the Finals in Edmonton. The last time this happened was one of the most dominant team performances I have ever seen. If the players can ride the wave of emotions from the fans, the city and country, tonight can be the same. Time to chase the cats (and rats) back to Florida and then make their state rat-free!

Man - gonna be a long day. Feels like it's been 8 hours already and it's only 10am here.
Hoping for some more McMagic tonight, and really hoping the few days off have helped Leon heal up a bit. He's giving it his all out there, but he is very clearly injured. As curious as I am to hear what it is, I'm happy to wait until next week to find out.
Game time yet?

Was hoping to watch this one with dad as he was scheduled to arrive around noon today.
Stupid Air Canada messed up his flight & he now won't be arriving til 11pm local time, right in the middle of the 3rd period most likely. He's just gonna grab a hotel overnight.
Go Oilers.
Win it for Angie.

Just one more from the team that never gives up.
The crowd will be insane tonight, and I think that will buoy them up to give us a game seven.

Oh, and while it would be cool to have another 8-1 beat down, I'd really love it for the Panthers to have to push hard, especially late so that there's just a little less in the tank if Monday happens.
I remember game 6 in 06, and the dominant performance that game kinda allowed Carolina to regroup for #7.

Difference would be that this is Bobrovsky - the guy who collapsed last year. And hasn't been great the last 7 periods. The more doubt we can put in his head, the better IMO.
Either way - at least 1 more goal than them is all I am asking for. But I will take a bunch more than them too.

Nurse has been up and down this playoffs, maybe slightly banged up though he's moving fine. Just need 2 games from him.
Leon is off. Something is up. He's produced nothing this series. Just need 2 games from him.
Nuge. 13 yrs with the Oilers. This is what he's wanted. The cup is right there. I don't think he's done much this series at all. Just need 2 games Nuge. Come on!!
Foegele. I think he has cost himself some money with a lousy playoff. He's been a little better lately. 2 good games can recover some of the money he's lost.
Perry scored a big goal. This might be it for him. Whatever you got left in you, squeeze it out. Just need 2 games.
McLeod has been very disappointing to me in the playoffs. He just doesn't bring it. 2 games man. If you can't get out of your comfort zone for 2 games and bring it. Something wrong with you.
Henrique. I think has been decent. He made the finals his rookie year, then barely played in the playoffs at all for 13 yrs until he came here. He's going to be 35 and a good chance, unless he takes way less, he will sign with another team. So this could be it for him. 2 games man.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAA RD, I was demotivated by this post and motivated. You showed moments where you are having an inner struggle with yourself.

There was also only the one day between games 6-7 in 2006, whereas this year there would be 2 days between should game 7 be required.

One more game and the last game of this 2023-24 season at home.
I've said this before. It's been a long road and it's just one more game.
They MUST WIN.
I'm proud of them.. but I can't see the panthers giving up another game. I just can't. Prove me wrong Oilers.

Slept like crap last night. Desperately want a game 7 and it showed in my dreams. Biggest story line out there and I’m hearing the loonie bins spouting off that the NHL is scripted, and it has been written that the McDavid storyline has been chosen ….
I hope they are right. I can live with it.

I can't imagine with all the luck that is in play with hockey that anything can be scripted. I can believe that the league does micro things to help out certain franchises at certain times, but at the end of the day it comes down to bounces and execution by those with the skates on their feet and sticks in their hands.

In the exact same spot we were in vs the Canucks.
Finished the series with 2 dominant performances.
Do it again boys. Don't take your foot off Bad Bobo's neck.

Some chatter on the social media about Kane in for Holloway…
Would be the wrong choice imo. If Kane can be 90% of normal Kane, it should be Ryan out for Kane.
See how it shapes up here.

Gregor on twitter said Holloway was on for the optional with guys like McD and he didn't stay on the ice much longer than them like the scratches did. Gagner, Carrick, Desharnais all stayed out for extra time. Holloway is playing for sure.
Holloway also did an interview this morning so I doubt they send him out if he is scratched.

Wow, that would be bold. Holloway had some very very rough plays last game. But an amazing game before that.
Think we can use his energy and he can play smarter after having 1 rough night.
If Kane is in, I hope he is actually much healthier. His games were far more brutal than anything Holloway did in game 5. Kane has been a giveaway machine and zero defensive effort for a while now.

I don't get how some in the media are saying this could be a trap game for the Oilers. How can they possibly take this game lightly? If they don't come out hard, they will lose and the season is over. Fact, end of story.
Florida is the team that has an extra chance if they lose tonight. I don't expect the Panthers to play bad but if they do, their season isn't done tonight.

Big game for McD coming again, I can feel it! Watching the clips of him and how jacked he was scoring the empty netter. McD is rarely fired up. Then seeing the clip of him screaming on the bench "Back to Berta baby". He is full on I won't let us lose mode.
Listening to the morning presser with Leon and Hyman. Leon going out of his way to talk about how he's not happy with his game and plans to change it. A grumpy Leon is a very good Leon. I am feeling him making his presence known tonight!!
I am maybe being a bit over confident but I just don't feel like they will lose tonight. This team has gone through too much this year to just have it end on home ice. Plus they have the lesson of last year losing to Vegas in game 6.

Yeah, I don't think there are any overconfidence traps for a team that can be eliminated.
The traps are probably more about wavering confidence, and worrying you're gonna choke. Hopefully Bad Bobo has nothing but those thoughts in his head right now.

If this was a team full of rookies, playing way over their heads that cruised through the playoffs with no problem, then maybe there could be a chance the choke in the moment. The Oilers are a vet team. They had about as bad a start to the season as it gets. They were at the bottom of the league for a tiny part of it. If they lose, I don't see it because they choke.

Choke pressure should be firmly on Florida rn. Amps up to another level if we beat them tonight. Everyone says a team making it to the finals 2 times in 2 years and losing the first time is supposed to win the 2nd time. Everyone says a team up 3-0 is supposed to win. Winning was supposed to be their destiny this season.
Nothing our players can do about it aside from laying it all out on the ice again and giving Florida their own 3 loses in a row.

Well, he did miss out on game 7 revenues against LA. That is the only possible home game that has not occurred this season, which is pretty crazy to think about.

So you're saying a loss tonight would help the bottom line. Save on that plane fare back to Florida and any Stanley Cup bonus money.

How about the carbon emissions too?
If Florida loses tonight, it means they don't care about the environment.
