In 2004, I remember we were one point out of the playoffs with one game to go and needed a win and a loss from I think it was Vancouver in order to make the post season. I was on a sportsnet oilers thread and decided we needed a little help. We lost that game and this prayer didn't work but I've realized now that it wasn't the time or the place for that prayer. This is the time and the place. So here it is. Well, as one as I can remember with some updates of course.
Our Oilers,
Who art in Edmonton,
Hockey be thy game.
Thy goals will come,
Stu will stop some
In Roger's place
Located in Edmonton.
Give us this PP,
This penalty kill
And forgive us our stick slashes.
As we score on those with pks against us.
And lead us not into elimation,
But deliver us the Stanley.
