Little taste of history. 18 years ago, sheesh.
Reid Wilkins @ReidWilkins
That's the Oilers first win in 2nd OT or later since Horcoff beat San Jose in the 3rd OT on May 10/06.

Get the clips going of Dallas infractions. Nice full windup baseball swing at Holloway on his breakaway

To win a game despite being down 5-1 in extra strength chances is a big fricken deal.
The only team that beats is ourselves.

Was an interesting note that Skinner went off on his own back in Nov to hire his own goalie coach, and they have been working on big flaws in his style since.
Jack Campbell also went off to get his own goalie coach to stick with him during the season in Legace.
Next GM interviewing Schwartz:

Hope he's a Michael Bolton fan or he might stop receiving a paycheck.
If the Oilers get this level of goaltending from Skinner it changes everything - they are going to be an extremely tough out, maybe the favourite.

.. here's one of those Dallas infractions that never rose to the level of the NHL refs interpretation of a rule book violation.. cracks Skinner right in the forehead with a stick swing.. then they go call Bouchard for tapping a guy's shin pad..
Comical.

That's the one I was talking about - how do you not call that one or the slash on Holloway's breakaway after the other stuff you called?

So what are tickets going for for games 3 and 4? I'm seeing around $400 apiece on Stubhub and Ticketmaster. That about right?
If they were able to get by the Stars I wonder what the SCF tickets would go for.

Depends where you sit I suppose. Buddy is going to game 3 and he got 2 seats in sec 134 for $868 USD (crazy).
I’m thinking $300 gets you in the door. I’m hoping my friends with corporate seats remember my phone number next week. The atmosphere is unbelievable, but not worth a month’s rent for many people.

Yeah, "in the door" is what I'm looking at - don't need to be rattling the glass. I wouldn't be able to make 2 trips...on the one hand, this is as deep as we've gone since 2006 (1 win in the WCF), on the other, if we could get by Dallas - games 3 and 4 of the SCF would be crazy...

Sounds about right. It's about 1K for two tickets in the section 200s in Dallas for game 2 so might have to pass. Best section for the slightly higher up views with less crowded restrooms & easier access to ordering liquor....which I need when watching the Oilers live lol.
Tough weekend with overseas family in town and visiting work clients but it'd be nice to run around town having run-ins with Oilers media, etc. Really upset the TNT studio crew isn't on site filming their show on an outdoor terrace or something to maximize fan engagement.

Bouchard has had an incredible run. Like having another elite forward out there.

Throughout this game I thought this "feeling out" between the team would be a long drawn out affair. Both teams tried to push the other in the most cautious way, but the Oilers showed they can hang with them, less crashing and banging and more of a game of errors.
Top to bottom the lineup deserved a ton of applause, the PK is still operating at a ridiculous pace and the game of the 3rd and 4th line was amazing. I watched it all.. when the fans stand thought you can't see much of the corners so I wasn't aware of the McDavid 2OT goal.
Still, great effort all around.
The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.
Generally Disappointed.

Like how our team suddenly look like stick checking experts. This seems like a great matchup for the Oilers in terms of speed. We were able to be on top of guys all night, and if we are combining that with good sticks, we can eliminate so many chances against. Honestly a bit surprised at how good our sticks have been lately, wonder if Knob has been pushing working on that hard in practice. Hope that continues.
I don't think any of the Dallas D are very physical. Their D play a lot like ours, mostly stick checking and angles/positioning. Tanev leads their D in hits, but his hits are mostly just rub outs on the boards like guys like Vinny and Nurse do. Pretty optimistic that McDavid and Drai will be able to play their game through the series and not take a constant beating like they did against the Canucks.
Benn and Marchment will be taking runs for sure all series on our D, and forwards in the middle of the ice if they can catch a guy. But overall, most likely will be a battle of errors/smarts, and goaltending. We have the high end talent, and we need it against Oettinger. Dallas will just keep grinding for lower quality chances and if we can keep those down and Skinner is on his game, we should have a good shot every game.
