That play is fine 99.9% of the time. Just lazy NHL refs seeing Kanes number and realizing they haven't got a chance to be in the spotlight yet. They are just the worst.

They are such clowns. Ordinarily I'd say that you need to pay them more to attract better people but in the case of NHL refs they really should pay them less. In fact I'm not sure they need to be paid at all. Just have a random number generator that spits out 1-6 penalties/team/game. Same thing and we don't have to be subjected to these egomaniacs.

Decent first period. Stars being way sneakier about their infringements than Van was with all their blatant holds, trips & picks. We're due for a call. Kill of this last 20s or whatever it is then get busy.
I was worried that we'd be way overmatched this series, but first period was pretty even. I'd even argue that we had the best scoring chances. Connor looking more Connor-like too which is a promising sign. Stars don't seem like the type of team to beat down our stars because they feel like they can't compete skillwise, unlike LA & Van.

Never realized Holloway was such a hard hitter. And he does it a lot. Loving his game. McLeod should take notes.
McDavid looking infinitely better than the majority of that Canucks series. Great to see him take that nice hard shot.
