And the guy who made the ill-advised pinch to hit Ekholm was Carson Soucy-replacement Noah Juulsen. Awesome.

Good game so far, but we need more shots from closer to the goal. We have 22 shots, but 11 are from the defencemen. More from the forwards in the third would help us get that third one.

Holloway showing some good bursts of speed. I forgot how quick he is. Keep it up boys!

Freaking Scott Oake STILL shilling for the Shilov "fairytale". I guess that answers my question about whether they'll change their tune.

Screw all of em. Keep pushing the offensive while still playing solid D. 2/3 perios down...we deserve this win. Let's finish it off.

Curious to see if the popular media narrative may change. Probably won't, but career backup, bounced around the league. Finally makes his playoff debut at age 32, playing for a team that has lacked reliable goaltending for years?

Feels like as much of a story to me as what they've been trying to sell everyone re: Silovs.

Ugh...not much conversation about the game here so I took a look at /r/hockey. Yeah...please remind me not to ever go there again. It's like the worst of Canucks & Flames fans all congealed together into one irrational spiteful ball of hate against the Oilers.

Yep - we've changed our forecheck. 1-2-2 now, and quite passive. I don't like it. Go for the jugular.

Why do we keep shooting poop along the ice on his goalie doing permanent splits?

Feel like he is one of those super demanding coaches that rails on guys for mistakes. Works great when everything is going your way and everyone feels like the 110% effort and taking endless crap from the coach the second any wavers is all worth it because of the winning.

Goes horribly wrong when the luck runs out and there starts to be extended bad periods where being yelled at isn't translating to wins. I hope next year we start to see his shelf life looking like it's fading.

Listening to tocchet now talking about how.many passengers were on the team. All the plays were his team's effort wasn't good enough. How some guys might need to be replaced in the lineup. Questioning if some of his players know they are in the playoffs.

No question though, absolute magic season for the Canucks this year.
