If only someone could have foreseen that this team needed a solid goalie. Haven't had one since Roli.

Not like we're paying our GM 5m a year to find one. Oh, wait.

Never seen a guy so adverse to contact.. won't even try a poke check.. just pulls up and swings wide.. every time.. he's giving Eric Belanger a run for the title of softest all time Oiler.

ZERO wrong with that hit bu Nurse on Petterson. Hit him in the side then he turned & dove headfirst into the boards. Commentators bought it, thankfully the refs didn't.

No idea why McDavid isn't taking it to the net & shooting more. He scored 60+ last year, but he's passing off every single time now.

Edit: woo! LFG! Drai with the snipe!

Our D is just not good enough.

You have 2/3rds of a legitimate playoff D core. The other 1/3rd get exposed by teams that see them on the ice and salivate.

You check a guy from behind head first into the boards and not get a penalty now?

Vinny exposed again. Love the guy against teams who play heavy, but against teams who play fast he's overmatched. Would not be opposed to bringing in Stecher for the rest of this series.

Wouldn't mind seeing a replay on that "penalty"

All I saw was Nuge pinning a guy on the boards, which happens dozens of times a game.

Blatant hits from behind into the boards are ok though apparently. High stickings also ok I guess.

I've heard the excuse "refs don't want to influence the game by calling penalties" but by virtue of NOT calling penalties that is exactly what they are doing.

Nuge having himself a game. I asked him to step up his game, I guess I needed to clarify in a good way. 2 bad penalties in the first. One causes the Canucks goal. He owes the team a goal.

That second call was super soft. Helped on the powerplay and his line has had good pressure typically. It’s cherry-picking to look at the penalties alone and call out his game.

Also, based on the Brown comments from last game, at what point is criticizing a player crossing the line and basically cheering for the Canucks?

93 was actually playing great after the 1st penalty. He was all over the place...I hope he stays pissed and plays like that the rest of the playoffs.
