After that dreadful loss to the Stars exactly one week ago, the Oilers have thumped the Avs 6-2 and Vegas 5-1.

I’m satisfied with the response now.

Lot's of positives out of this game, the biggest being of course winning without McDavid in the manner we did. However, even when he's back can we please practise our powerplays without him. I know we scored on the 5 on 3, but for the rest of the time it was shocking, it needs sorting out just in case the worse happens in the play-off's.

Fair point. A powerplay that consists of 97 buzzing around the zone and team mates wondering what is going to go down is impressive, but not a sustainable system for 4 rounds in my opinion. Some teams have easily turned this powerplay into a momentum killer this season as he unsuccessfully tries undressing 3 defenders.

Don’t get me wrong. 97 buzzing around when the goalie is pulled and the opponent is turding itself is a great weapon. But when he’s not doing that, the powerplay is very static with very little unpredictability. Always hoping for the cross ice to Draisaitl. I would prefer more structure and movement, with 97 undressing an opponent when in the danger zone around the net. Hard to complain about some of the impressive goals they have scored on the PP, but it could use another or two.

Both teams missing their captain and now I’m confident this Oilers team can handle the Knights in a best of 7 with home ice advantage 1st round matchup. I’d love to eliminate them early even with their playoff roster that’s going to be well over a 100M.

To be the Champ, you need to beat the Champ.

Bring on Vegas.

With all the wrestlers who have passed at a relatively young age it absolutely blows my mind that that dude is still alive.
He's like the Keith Richards of wrestling.

Those weeks away in Bakersfield has really helped Holloway.. he looked faster and knew what he was going to do once he got where was going.. having him and McLeod as speedy bookends can cause a lot of problems for the opposition.. add in the vet Perry to mentor them .. could be a good combo going forward.. I've noticed Perry consistently backing up the D men and getting back to cover them.. smart and savvy.

Gotta watch recording of this one, but nice to see a convincing win over Vegas.

Arizona also kept the Canucks to 1 point. 4 points back, 2 games in hand, and 1 H2H.

Funny it seems like Kings and Vegas are doing everything they can to not be 3rd in the division lately :)

Thought that was one of our most complete games of the year. Completely stifled any attempts that Vegas had.
What was it, 20 shots? With at least half of them being soft dump ins from the blue line.

If we can bring that game every night there are VERY few teams who can hang with us.

Really impressed with Holloway's game - he was flying. Ek & Bouch just completely dominant every time they were on the ice too.

Yotes doing us a solid by keeping the Nucks to 1pt too. Did not expect that!

Going to be a rough final week with all those games packed in. What do we have, 5 games in 7 days to close it out? Weird schedule.

Vegas was missing a few critical guys so that has to be taken into consideration a bit but they still are a very good team. What was encouraging for me is how the Oilers played. They were disciplined not taking a single penalty which shocks me. But also played a very disciplined game defensively. Vegas only had 18 shots. The Oilers didn't give up very many good looks when they did, Skinner was there.
