Poorly officiated overtime. Ridiculous that Tuch gets away with that trip just before the goal.

What the hell....

I guess this game isn't over.

They come back out and leak another incredible chance. 10 minutes since Buffalo's goalie faced his last shot.

Horse manure effort to finish the game.

I'm kind of glad that the Oilers had to eat that L twice. Two terrible efforts in a row.

Mailed in the OT and shootout. Not the best time of the year to take your foot off the gas I don't think, but I don't play in the league so I could be wrong.

Will be nice once the new additions get comfortable.
Nothing noticeable from them so far.

Just a poor ot performance with a shot at changing the outcome but wasn’t meant to be. Needed these 2 points taking advantage while Vegas was losing

I'm honestly concerned about McDavid and his complete inability to finish. Guy has completely lost his touch around the net.

Come on…. they played an absolute lame game…. I am almost happy the Sabres won.
They didn’t deserve to win by any means…. Lazy effort…. especially by McDavid and Drai….
There is no cup coming…. we don’t have a winning team… Just a seasonal false hope.
I am really mad after this gsme….

So am I. Garbage effort and a highly dysfunctional squad.

Two back to back brutal efforts. Take the BIG L Oilers. You deserve it.

Sorry, but McDavid playing sloth speed street hockey in the shootout totally annoys me.

I only caught end on the radio. Pretty funny watching on TV. Everyone was in the dressing room as the ref announced the mandatory offside review cancelled the goal. Announced to 2 completely empty benches.

I watched the replay and then turned the TV off in disgust. That trip on Nurse was ridiculous. There were a couple other 3-on-3 muggings ahead of that too.

I did exactly the same, turned it off when they showed Power with arms raised celebrating. At least 3 tackles leading up to that goal. Wouldn’t surprise me if they actually saw the offside and chose not to call it, hoping review wold be inconclusive.

I was passively watching the game while getting a tattoo. Until this moment, perusing Oilfans, I had no idea the game went to a shootout.

heads need to be removed from butts on this team ASAP.

Getting very concerned we fired Woody too early. Coach bump being all gone already doesn't bode well for playoffs.

I also remain stunned that Knob putting Desharnais in the top 4 didn't seem to be of any interest to Holland. gnl, this team is pretty unfortunate to look at right now. All on McDrai and few others to overcome a lot of weaknesses once again in the playoffs.

Should have got a proper GM before last summer. The 5M wasted on Holland likely could have been made up with more playoff revenue, if the right hire was made.

McDavid was rubbish; the worst I've seen him play. The overall leadership is questionable and that's being very very generous. The team is overall in the toilet. The Oilers won't get past the first round at this stage. cry

Only positive was the face off domination, and the #71, #29, #37 line.. McLeod's speed and puck carrying ability is a vital ingredient for Leon.. the line can gain the zone without the opposition focusing on Leon and corralling him all the time which leads to turnovers..

Oilers still have trouble overcoming a hard and fast forcheck.. D-men aren't agile/fast enough to get the play out of the zone ..

If only there'd been some chance for the Oilers to better their team and look to eliminate some of their deficiencies.

The way local wags and podcasters were defending the deadline it made me wonder if there is some buzz that Stauffer was losing his gig.

It felt like an audition for his job.

Some people here must be bipolar. The swings from just last week and the our 5 game win streak until the SO loss to the Sabres is mind blowing.

Sometimes this board is no better than Twitter.

Haha. Okay. Maybe it’s not that bad here, but you have to admit that people call for a falling sky pretty darn quick lately.

It seems like every few weeks a team gets hot and then they cool off. Hardly a Stanley Cup predictor.

By definition this group is pretty even keeled. I just don’t think being a fanatic means you lose your ability for critical thinking.

Social proof has told us that getting into the playoffs with health is all you really need to do to have a legit Stanley Cup chance.

I think many Oiler fans are still a bit raw from the “all in” deadline.

I dunno. I think many here have a very good grasp on what this team is and what they are likely to do. Ups and down swing emotions for sure, but still usually settles back closer to reality. Team has some great players that can steal games, but overall, still poorly constructed. So some turd games with the same mistakes being made and holes in the lineup being exposed draw many back to having to accept the latter once again.
