Get the heart of the the team back in the lineup and look what happens.

8 goals with zero powerplays has to be a unique occurence. Amazing what perfect angels the red wings were.

Some sports comentator out there needs to look up what the record for most goals in a game is without a single powerplay. I would be pretty surprised if it is more than 8.

Oilers move to just a half game back of Vegas. Kings loss buries them even further.
Good night for the Oilers.

Wings backup goalie looked very Soupy.

Actually.. the back up was actually the one that started tonight (Husso) .. got injured.. Lyon has played more games and has a better SV%..

P. Chiarelli math.. T. Hall = A. Larsson, Yak= bag o'pucks (OK he got one right...) K. Russell = $4.1 M+NMC, G. Reinhart= M. Barzal + A. Beauvillier, J. Eberle = R. Spooner,

97's puck pursuit is always elite, and tonight his passes were rewarded. IMHO Holloway turned the tide with the effort to get to McD's setup... The bottom 6 gotta get back to contributing without 97's help.
...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

Foogle has regressed last few games.. same with McLeod.. few chances being generated.. sloppy puck handling.. (though they aren't the only playing sloppy).. I think they missed Janmark on the PK tonight..

McDavid lets us all know with 17 points in his last 6 games that the Art Ross race is not over. Still 13 back which is a pretty big hill to climb, but with 5 more games to play than both the Avs and Bolts, I certainly wouldn't count him out.

Pretty sloppy 2nd period but what I loved about that game was McD was interviewed by Gene and he looked PISSED about how they played in that period. That to me shows a level of maturity from where the team is now to where it was even last year. Last year, he would mention how they have to clean up some mistakes, etc, etc but have a bit of a whatever face, we scored 8 look. This year he shrugged off the goals, credited Stew like he should and made it known that period is not how it's going to be.
For the game, it was nice to see them pump in a bunch of goals and do it without a single PP. Big 2 points!

Didn’t see the third period. I fell asleep. Wasn’t feeling good. It sucks I missed that third period. We really came alive in the third period and took over the game. Damn the offense was solid

In regards to the scoring race, I keep forgetting that McDavid also has games in hand to catch the scoring leaders. Enjoy him. I know I did not appreciate Gretzky and company as much as I should have in the 80's. I do not expect to see this kind of talent in an Oilers jersey again in my lifetime. I have been very fortunate to see two superstars play for my favorite team and I am drinking it all in this time.
