I hate it when I have a dream that McLeod gets his first real goal... why do I tease myself so?

I’m kind of sad Ryan McLeod didn’t make the Toby Reider cup more interesting. I think the vitriol would have been fun.

Second line killing it so far. Awesome work by Drai and Leon, screening Pickard completely.

Bouchard just standing there as Jersey scores. He's more of a negative than he is a positive. Sell high if you can convince another team he's good.

Is it wrong for me to hate this team, as it's currently constructed? Do I blame Holland for this? Or Brown or Campbell? Do we blame the pro scouts? Someone, or some people, enormously succcckkk at their job.

We all know Schwartz is a donkey, but who else is a donkey in this org?

You don't post often enough anymore for me to know if this is serious or sarcastic. Clockwork Orange tells me you are sarcastic so I am going with that.

I don't think either player is playing at elite levels but to think the team would be better without one or both is hilarious to me.

Sorry definitely sarcasm - yeah it's wild where the blame gets shifted sometimes. As usual it starts with media favourites and the usual lazy narratives and spreads from there.

It is pretty amazing how the media picks who to trash and some fans jump right on board. One thing good about living out of market, I have to go out of my way to hear anything from the circus of clowns that report on this team.
I dont follow any of them on twitter and dont hear them on the radio so the only exposure I have is when someone quotes them on this board.

You need a different font for sarcasm. I feel it gets lost on the people that need to hear it.

Bouch is a good young defenseman. He’s not the problem. Draisaitl is a star. These are the players teams chase. We become so irrational at times (self included).

Watch the 3rd goal. Just stands there as the player beside him taps in the empty net goal.

Just like Poti, Bergeron, Schultz, and countless more before, he's a one-way player that gives up more than he gets.

I saw the third goal. It wasn't a good play by Bouchard.
The rest of your post is BS, as is your first one.

He and Ekholm are now the first pairing. They are getting the toughest matchups and his 5 V 5 numbers have improved even though the QOC is getting harder.
I am not just talking about the fancy stats, his GF/GA have not gotten worse either. He will never be an elite defender but he is already a high end offensive defenceman.
This fanbase begged for a player like this for years. Now they have one and some want to trade him. Insanity.

Same guy who thinks Hall was the problem with the Oilers from 2010-16, and that Paul Coffey (the player, not the assistant coach/special adviser) was terrible. I think after a while you figure out who's just one of those guys who isn't so good at talent evaluation. He's basically the beer-fueled lout in the seat behind you actively cheering against our own defencemen at the games.

So, Hall is leading Jersey in scoring?
Arizona?
Boston?
oh right, he's tearing things up in Chicago.

I've been right about him for 10 years and you are still trying to weakly defend him. but you are the smartest man on the board, right?

I'll start pointing out more when Bouchard sewers this team. Maybe you just aren't noticing.

No one player wins a championship or gets his team to the playoffs. Hall's pretty uniformly played for bad teams. When he played for Boston he was one of their best performers in their post-season, where they lost a seven-game series.

I'm sure you will be hyper-focused on any mistake Bouchard makes, and you'll feel that you alone understand that he's not the answer and we just need one more Don Jackson-type defender instead. Off the glass and out, right?

As for smartest here, while I'm pretty clever and rarely wrong about Oilers-related stuff, I don't claim to be the smartest. We've got lots of smart people here. There's definitely a few that I know a lot more than though.

Seriously. Someone force Brown to give at least half his bonus to Gagner.
