About 2 periods and 5 minutes I'll never get back. What a shabby effort. Knobby needs a new look behind the bench besides 'puzzled'.

Wonder how the media will figure out not to blame Ken Holland this week.

Time to fire the coach?

I know Drai scored the goal for us tonight, but 5 ES goals on the season for the once-vaunted Leon isn't going to get it done. Guy continues to take penalties at bad times and it cost us the Islanders go ahead goal tonight.

OnePlus, you'll probably slag me for writing all of this, however the guy has about as much jump to his game as a geriatric dance hall, he looks sullen and frankly, I get the feeling that he's trying to play himself off of this squad.

I wear a Draisaitl jersey to the games. I used to really like the guy.

He looks like a total shadow of himself right now.

Did Leon refuse to sign your jersey for you? It does seem like you are really upset with him.

Nope, no slag here. He didn't have a great game.
I will still argue that your dislike of his penalties is mis-guided but I am cool to agree to disagree on that point.

When your team is doing well, and the player is Canadian, people look at the grouchy face as being the next coming of Jonathan Toews - famously Mr. Serious.

When he's German and the team is struggling, people start inventing reasons that he's actually a problem.

Draisaitl may be nursing something the last month - he's looked a little off - and he's definitely been saddled with some poor linemates (weeks of Connor Brown would make anyone grouchy). But he ain't the problem with the Oilers.

Even if you blame Holland, per Spector, it would be too disruptive to the team to fire the GM mid season. Best to let Holland work his magic. He is known as a great trade negotiator right? We are in good hands.

Trying lazy pass pond hockey against a counter punch team that blocks and stick checks all night. Went about how you would expect.

Just awful awareness on the PK too. Thought we were getting better there, but just got picked apart tonight.

If he does an update to the fans from his office in front of a Red Wings team photo while criticizing the tiers (tears?) of fans, I wouldn't be surprised.

Word on the street is that Connor Brown is a healthy scratch next game in favour of Adam Erne. That's something all right.

I'm not a big fan of Erne. I think he's added virtually nothing in the 12 games we've seen him play so far this year. However, playing only fourth line minutes with fourth line linemates, he's managed the same single assist that Brown has playing more minutes a night in almost twice as many games (23) while playing mostly on lines with McDavid and/or Draisaitl. Ugly.

It was right there for the taking. Brown tweaked his leg, he was playing like crap, useless. Didn't hit 10 games yet. Right there served on a platter we could have saved ourselves from Holland's horrible mistake.

Probably didn't even consider it.

Of course you HAVE to pay a guy 4M for 0 goals and looking like he should be in the AHL. What a jerk team we would be to not just toss him 3.225M extra for nothing. Our org could never survive the bad reputation we would get.

Our org needs to project an attitude that they are willing to do what it takes to win, or it won’t be a destination for players that want to. Or send the message that you can coast and still be rewarded… I know Brown isn’t coasting, but still.
