Welp, at least I have Stamkos in my hockey pool.
Thought we were the better team throughout, but this was a classic case of their goalie playing WAY better than ours. At least Calgary lost, though they picked up yet another loser point.

Tampa gets their revenge for 2001.
I missed almost the entire game, and as soon as I turned it on, Stamkos gets that baseball goal. I'm sorry.

Whilst disapointed that our win streak is over and we are back to .500, and that a few of goals we'd like back in the third, our effort and attitude throughout was excellent. A far cry from the start of the season and rather than pulling our hair out in frustration as to how bad we are, we should be praising the effort to get back to .500 and also for what was a pretty good game of hockey to watch.
Take me home, country road
to the place where I belong
to Alberta, to see the Oilers

Well that was a pretty horrible goaltending effort from Skinner. Oilers did very well to get 4 on Vasy, and deserved a better outcome.
L2 has to get going for Edmonton as well. Holy cow.

One loss. But hey after a 8 game win streak that got us back to .500. Throw it away, next game.

What is the record for losses when shooting 40 shots? We gotta be nearing it already.

So...Can we get a goalie now? Pretty disheartening to outshoot the other team 57-24 and lose 7-4. Total domination for almost 40 minutes. Their goalie kept them in it. Ours obviously didn't.
And does Connor Brown really still need to be here?

I don't think the majority of Oilers team could have played any better. They absolutely dominated that game and Vasilevsky looked every bit like a 9.5 mill goalie. He was unreal. Tampa got a few bounces, Oilers did not. Skinner spit the bit in the last 10 mins. The Kucherov and Stamkos 3rd goal can't go in.
I am disappointed they couldn't win but I am really happy with the effort. They dominated a very good team, they didn't quit and you play that game like that 10 times, you probably win 8-9 of them.

Can we just stop this. When will the oilers give me a chance?
I’m not great at skating, and if the puck goes over my legs we’re screwed, but I can take away the bottom part of the net. Enough with Skinner!!

That makes me uncomfortable in all the right ways.
Skinner is fine, they just need a guy who they can play every third game. I don't particularly care who it is, it just needs to happen. If they already know it isn't Pickard they need to send him down and try out Rodriguez or Tardigrade. I don't particularly care which, either one is fine for me on a 9 game trial.
It would be hilarious though if the Condors had a goalie tandem of Campbell and Pickard.

Lol sorry
Pickard was solid last game though. I think he deserves a few more starts

I wish there was a way you could take the level of compete and give a crap that Hamblin shows and inject it into McLeod. If you could, McLeod would be one hell of a player.
Hamblin doesn't have great hands, he's not that big but man that guy works. You notice him most shifts. Tampa caught the Oilers with the 4th line out vs their first line, the 4th line held their own and Hamblin even drew a penalty against Da Haan.

Agreed. Hamblin reminds me of Yams a bit. Small guy but busts his ass on the ice to score
