Skinner still wobbly, but scoring covered the blemishes.

First off, a much needed win where we kept our star players under 20 minutes. Connor Brown just earned his bonus with an assist and McDavid looked dominant. He’s alive!
He settled in. The game would’ve went a different way against a better team. No rebound control, poor puck tracking and looked horrible from post to post in the first. Looked solid after that.
What was up with the ice tonight? Guys were tripping and falling everywhere.

Draisaitl looked like he's not into it for the majority of the game. Handling the puck like a grenade, no jump... skating into defenders. Ends with a goal and an assist, after one of the poorest performances I've seen from him in a long time.
For the most part, a pretty good game. Rough first 8 or so minutes, and then everything settled down.
Desharnais needs to see some PB time, or the minors. He's a circus in his own end right now. Call Gleason or Kemp up.

Nice to see us score on every shot for once.
Bouch did make a mistake or 2 though, so trade him.

3 games back of a playoff spot. For as dreadful as this start has been, it could be worse lol. 5-3 in our last 8 games. Looks like they are starting to figure it out

After a shaky start by Skinner, the team bailed him out and scored a ton.
Looks like McD is healthy again but also over his lack of confidence because I think it was both.
Leon looks like he's out of his funk.
Nuge is starting to come on.
Ekholm looks like he's back.
Hyman continues to play well, same with Kane.
Nurse and Ceci have been good and fairly solid for most of the season.
Since the coaching change, I've noticed an improvement in the PK since Stuart took it over.
I've liked Hamblin. Another goal, he gives you what he has.
I'm hoping the assist Brown got gets him going.

At the same time, Skinner rebounded nicely after a shaky start. He shut them down in the second and third

I am not trying to "pick on him" but McLeod not scoring is becoming an issue. I view the 3rd line center position as pretty important and I don't think you can win long term if your 3rd line center is McLeod with how it's going. He's going to have to have one hell of the remainder of the season to change my mind.
He hasn't scored a goal in 36 games. He doesn't shoot much with 26 shots in 20 games. He's not physical at all with 16 hits in 20 games. He's not even a dominant faceoff guy at 47.6%. He skates fast and can be on your PK. But you need more for a guy that plays 15 mins. I think they need an upgrade at 3rd line center and I would use McLeod to do it. I just don't see it with him.

McDavid looks like he's back, lol. Still one horse short in the top 6 until Brown does anything.
Clouder has to be that rare guy that possesses the puck sooo much around the perimeter, but delivers zero offense. Take something to the net, shoot or dish to another guy. Anything.
Shaky early but Skinner finished well, effects go both ways between goaltenders and the guys in front of them. Props to Nurse, he's doing a lot less running around than we saw in some early games.
So here we are going to play Vegas, and the Oilers have taken the edge off the horrified fascination I've mostly had watch their games this year. Not even dreading the game upcoming.

McLeod's refusal to take the puck to the net drives me nuts. The style of game he plays to have a chance of success is reversed for the elite of the elite skill wise. He's got good skill but he's not close to elite. With his speed, he would be a threat every time he's on the ice if he took it to the net.
