Broberg in, 11F-7D. Pickard in net.

Not sure who's coming out. Erne?

Just play with some GD urgency!
Somebody tell Bouch he doesn't HAVE to stand right at the center of the blueline on the PP. He's allowed to move around and creep in for a shot.

I'm glad Pickard is starting. If the Oilers are going to dig upwards out of their hole they have to do a better job of protecting Skinner and putting him in position to succeed. He should never start 6 in a row and 9 of 10.

Got a weird sense about this game, like there is an injury upcoming.

Need the big guns to get going. When you get 3 goals from your bottom 6 like they did last game, you should win every time.

Kane, just grab Tkachuk and speedbag him. Do it quick before he starts his junk. Get it over with.

I'm still puzzled by what's up with McD. People say he's injured yet he doesn't miss a practice. Maybe practicing won't make it worse but if he's actually hurt, why wouldn't you take a few practices off, get some rest and extra treatment. Nothing about how McD is playing and if he's supposedly playing through something makes any sense with what he's doing on non game days.

There's a lot of things I doubt the Oilers on, but with McDavid's health, I'm just going to trust him that he's doing what he feels is best. McDavid at 60% is still much better than subbing him out and adding Erne at 100% in.

And practices? I mean, he's probably not pushing it beyond what he can comfortably do in a practice.

I believe he did have a maintenance day last week too.

It would be really cool if McLeod scored. His last goal was March 9,2023. So he's going into his 33rd game without a goal. Not like he's shooting a ton and just getting bad luck, he's got 20 shots in 16 games.

I'd like to agree but this is the Oilers and McDavid has spent 8 years living and breathing Oilers Hockey™. I think they would be wise to practice some amount of load management on their meal ticket. If they're willing to burn Skinner out with 9 starts out of 10, why wouldn't they be comfortable pushing McDavid to come back a few games early... especially when McDavid wants to come back early to play in the Heritage Classic.

Oh, I can definitely see them pushing him a little there...especially since they got dummied while he's out.

But participating in practices? I don't see the team pushing him to be out on the ice in practice if he didn't think he could handle it.
