It is just a loss. Not concerned. Seeing Demko leave the game makes me smile. Team gets so frustrated when they get down. It’d be nice to see some composure.

It absolutely does matter. The Canucks have all the confidence in the world against this sack of potatoes team. They are going to roll into Edmonton and absolutely crush the Oil again if they play like this. Our team has A TONNE to figure out before the next game, or it'll be a rinse and repeat of this garbage fire.
And... as an added note... it wouldn't be as big of a deal if the team hadn't made SUCH a big deal out of Connor and Leon getting the guys together early, getting skates in to build some familiarity early... trying to adopt a system that was going to be so much more about defense and responsible coverage... and to lay this kind of typical Oilers tire fire effort? It's inexcusable.
This is supposed to be a team that is going to do something special this year. They look like one of the worst teams in the league at the moment, instead.
It's like a giant middle finger to the people that have been following the team this offseason. So much hope, so much focus, and then a complete collapse. Total systems failure.

I remember a back to back against Calgary 20ish years ago. They lost the first game 7-2 (or something awful) then came back and put 10 up. Hockey can be weird sometimes.

So much for the "pundits" polls picking Oilers as Cup fav..
Lot of no shows.. All the guys you'd hoped/expected to improve over the summer haven't..
Defence is a mess without Ekholm.. IMO Ekholm is the defacto defense leader on the team.. take aways.. retrievals.. he leads teh defense.. Nurse and Bouchard are awful at it..
So.. who starts in net next game?

No effort. Plain and simple. If you don't try, you don't win. The team played like Bouchard does on defense a lot of nights. Couldn't give a crap.
I feel bad for the goalies, especially Campbell. Mentally, he needed a good start. That game was 100% not on him or Skinner. I saw him make 2, 3, 4 saves, the Oilers are standing around watching as the Canucks bang it in.

With RDOF, the correct answer will always be; Whomever the media decides it should be. Usually a good hockey player with a flaw in their game.
Bonus points for also continually extolling the virtues of management and 4th line JAG's.
I take most of the summer off of this site. I return hoping for better in both the Oilers and Oilfans, yet here we are. The Oilers have an early disappointment and RD is still spouting BS he heard on a radio call in program.
