Great little daily trivia game (like wordle) for the NHL that seems to be gaining popularity as of recent.

That was pretty good. Reminds me of those Sporcle games. Lots of good hockey ones on there too.

I play almost daily. Try to think obscure in order to increase your uniqueness score and when in doubt guess Mike Sillinger.

I’ve used the Hrkac Circus on multiple occasions.

Great pulls. Hrkac and Jagr.

Jaromir is a sneaky pick. I forgot how much he moved around and Hrkac is a forgotten player. Thanks.

What's the tie-breaker? Higher or lower uniqueness?

I went 9/9 with 116 uniqueness today.

Uniqueness.

I did not think I was being very obscure, but I am guessing most people who play come from a different era than I and likely many of our Oilfan community do. Not calling us old, but I think most of us here remember using pay phones and wrote post cards when on vacation. My selections looked like early 90's OPC hockey cards.

I think lower uniqueness score means more unique.

Coming up with a Habs Swede was particularly hard today.

I edged you with a 9/9 and 47 uniqueness!

I have encylopediac knowledge of Oiler history, so it was easy for me to rattle off Ashby, Connor, and Nachbaur knowing they'd be almost perfectly unique. I usually have a much tougher time with the newer teams, as I'm much better with the old school stuff. I rocked today with all teams going back to at least 1980. Only the Swedish Hurricane gave me trouble.

Ahhh, I used the rules to my advantage there - went with Hartford days and a gentleman named Ulf...I too struggled to think of a Swede from Carolina. Lots of Finns, but not a lot of Swedes.

Looks like hockey reference started their own version. What's cool with theirs is that there is additional data they give you at the end, like a list of all the players that could have been chosen that meets that category or the % correct on each square.

A 75 score is a human Hockey Digest. I just got 112 rarity ... Puckduko (I believe recently) allows to see every available person, or at least on the PC. Thanks for passing this on. I do not mind having two morning hockey trivia games.

Has anyone attempted baseball, basketball or football? I might go 5/9 on a good day.

I have never tried Puckdoku on a PC, only on my phone (my work computer blocks Puckdoku). The hockey-reference one is perfect because I can just do it when I want to take a break at my computer during the day.

My top score on Puckdoku was a 37. Days where the Oilers are an option normally get me better scores, and that day I think there were former Oilers that overlapped on other squares too. I was pretty proud of that one.

In Puckdoku today:

Correct
9 / 9
Uniqueness
46

I suspect it's an easier day for low scores, given the Canadian player piece...my Kings/Ducks player was over half of my score.

I missed on my first guess, for some reason I had though Hal Gill had played for the Sharks. Puckdoku is forgiving though and let's you keep going after the 9 if you want, and I was pretty excited to get a score under 10.

Dang it, I keep losing on bad guesses. How did neither Arnott or Nieuwendyk get 50+ assists in a season with the Stars?

This is what kills me, I lose trying to find the most obscure people possible. Brian Bellows got me on that one. I remembered that he had a 99 point season, but the dude had 55 goals and never had more than 48 assists in a given year.

I got shafted on that one too. Keith Tkachuk had 200 in a season but not with the Blues.

Wow it's amazing how similarly our minds can work. I guessed Twist then Pronger before getting it right with Chase too.

Ha, I am guilty and picked Twist too. I guess I'm not as unique as my score tells me I am sometimes.
