Looking at next season schedule. Currently up on Oilers website.
3 games vs Knights, Kings, Sharks
4 games vs Flames, 'Nucks, Kraken, Ducks
Lots of Saturday games. Guessing they get Sportsnet priority over everyone except Leafs.

I finally remembered to look over the Oilers schedule for 2023-24 and naturally have a couple thoughts:
-the October stretch (home @Nas @Phi home @Min home) is stupid. A couple extra off days in that, but it's still too much extra travel.
-how did the NHL know the Elks wouldn't be hosting a CFL playoff game when they scheduled the Commonwealth game the week before the CFL playoffs? I also think hosting the outdoor game on Sunday night is doing everyone a disservice
-The order of the December road trip (@Car @Min @NJ @Chi @TB @ Fla) is also stupid
-The Oilers have a two 5-day breaks in December
-The Oilers play 11 games in January, 15 in March
-Of those 15 March game TEN are against the eastern conference. The two March eastern road trips are scary
-The Oilers (except for McDavid) get an eleven day break for their bye week / all star game
-The home and home against Vancouver to start the season is gimmicky.
-The final 10 games shouldn't be as easy as last year's final 10 games
-NetBOG is right. There are a lot of Saturday games. 21 of them. Only 7 are afternoon games. As a bonus I only counted 4 Sunday afternoon games.

Getting excited. First I’ll watch the colts suck, but then oilers should be competitive again so at least one of my teams will do well this year

Oilers apparently have 18 games on US national TV, more than any other team in the league.
In a truly rare sight, they will play Dallas on ABC. I'm not sure they've been on US broadcast TV since the 2006 playoffs.
Lots of messed up start times is the downside, I suppose.

Networks and the NHL actually want to show fans around the league 2 of the best players in the game (one of them THE best)? I shouldn't be surprised, but I still am.

First Canadian team to play on ABC proper under the new ESPN deal and first Canadian team period to have a game on ABC since the 2004 Cup Final.

Sure but Canadian teams played in NBC proper in the 2006, 2007, 2011, and 2021 Cup Finals (guess how many of those involved the Leafs :) )
