.. more on Nichushkin's incident in Seattle..
Appears to have been a 28 year old woman from Ukraine (who says her passport was taken away by "somebody") .. Police report doesn't state whether he was in the room (or not) when police arrived. Could be Nichushkin called for an escort from this "somebody" and a woman that was being trafficked (and drugged) arrived.. no charges, but I don't think Nichushkin will be playing anytime soon..

One thing I found interesting.. apparently the Avs have 2 off-duty Denver policemen travel with the team as security.. article says this is not uncommon for NHL teams.. I wonder if Oil do the same?

If you have $80 million in 20 year olds wandering around a city away from home, hiring a couple of former badged babysitters is probably a cheap and wise investment.

True, there is a lot of franchise investment there.. didn't think they'd be used as babysitters during personal time though, more for fan security during team travel.. whatever happened, not a bright move by Nichushkin..

Oh.. and apparently he's married.. oops!

Strange story. Apparently she was very intoxicated and abusive to the police and possibly to Nichushkin. No charges being pressed though by anyone.

Here's hoping Seattle wins tonight so as to give him as much time as possible to figure out what he needs to without worrying about missing work.

Bruins look rattled big time. That's not the same calm structured team as the regular season..I don't like their chances in game 7. Lots of pressure when you are the (record wise) the best team ever.

I think that the Bruins are going to dust the Panthers in game 7. Game-to-game momentum means little and Boston has a really strong team.

I'll be glad when Toronto-Tampa is done because I can't tell them apart. Why would the league let Tampa use the exact same colours as a original 6 team?

Scott Wheeler @scottcwheeler

Tanner Jeannot, scratched by the Lightning on the night their season ended, was acquired for:

- 1st round pick (2025)
- 2nd round pick (2024)
- 3rd round pick (2023)
- 4th round pick (2023)
- 5th round pick (2023)

I think BriseBois has rode the Yzerman core he was left as far as it'll take him. And big wakeup call to his thinking that everything he touches at the deadline will turn to gold.

Is the entire legacy of Tampa's 2 asterisk cups erased by letting the Leafs win their first series since before the iphone existed?? IMO it is icon_lol

How the hell does a 25 year old UFA to be with a career high 41 points garner a ridiculous return like that? Plus Cal Foote.

I was away at the deadline and I think I missed this one. This is up there with the craziest overpayments ever.

I thought we may have helped Boston during the season, making them experience their first bit of adversity in the year as they went on a slump after losing to us. But looking like they still can't handle it. Florida up 2-0 in the 2nd and Boston does not look good in this game 7. Leafs fans must be freaking out at the idea their team could avoid Boston for once.

Update: Now its 3-2 boston..

refs didn't have to intervene in this game, would have been pretty even game.. oh well..

Wayne Huizenga called up and got the Panthers to OT. Great script writing.

Apparently Huizenga died about 5 years ago. I think he'd gotten a lot of his money out while Blockbuster was still a thing. Through work I met a few of the guys who'd worked with him back in the day. Said he was a gem of a guy.

Crazy to see the Bruins go down, but it's interesting - winning the President's Trophy doesn't mean a whole lot:

http://www.puckreport.com/2014/05/nhl-presidents-trophy-winn ers-and.html

This is the ninth time since 1986 that the President's Trophy winner lost in the first round. 12 times they've lost in the 2nd round. Six times they've lost in the semi-finals. 3 times they've lost in the Finals and 8 times they've won the Cup. It's definitely not a guarantee of anything.

And now the defending Stanley Cup champions are out too. Every bracket in the world has been broken.

The good part about Boston losing this year is they won't become blueprint for spending beyond the cap to win. Everyone will forgot about their slight of hand with bonuses.

The Bruins post season radio show is an interesting listen tonight. Usually these season ending shows are kind of sad, this one is angry.

Seattle up 2-0 now in the 2nd. I think this series is a win win for the league. Doesn't matter who wins. Maybe a lean to Seattle

Do they still have local broadcasts even though it's shown nationally?

Yeah, the locals get to show the first round games too. They're partisan and they're awesome. A lot of joy and a lot of sadness.

And we’re left with the real possibility of a Kraken - Golden Knights conference final. Weird days.

Only if you have the cable package where you get Altitude - we have comcast, so we get the ESPN/TNT feed, and did last year too.

Going to be interesting to see what happens with Nichushkin next year in Colorado.. management and players probably not too happy with the distraction before the loss.. but probably even more so now that they're out.. he's got $6.125M for another 7 years.. could he even be traded?

Super weird story...gal from Russia who claimed to be Ukrainian is at his hotel room in Seattle and ends up in the ER...hope everything is ok with those involved in the situation at least possessing some semblance of good judgement.

Very untimely distraction in the playoffs....

I wonder if McCann will be ready against the Stars...looks like a recent two time cup winner in Burakowsky will still be out for them.

Jack Edwards was fully prepared for the disappointment. Already 5 or 6 drinks in to make the OT winner call

gd it. Was really hopeful for more guaranteed years of pain for the Lames.

Absolute dream team would be Chia and Eakins :) Can the Oilers fake leak that they are looking at bringing back both of those guys into the oilers org? That always seems to trigger the Lames to go after people.

There are still no "easy outs" in the playoffs ...
But - is perhaps the path paved for a potential Oilers-Leafs Stanley Cup final? How awesome would that be?!?!? I think Dallas, Carolina, and the Rangers are all realistic possibilities too - but it might just be that the Oilers and Leafs are the two best teams standing after the first round. Personally, I'd love to see them both in the Finals - and once more remind TO that McDavid >>>>> Matthews, Draisatl >>>>> Marner/Tavares.
