Love these games against bad teams. They went to work, got their points, and no one got injured. Win win win. It was an easy game to ignore while doing chores. Every time I looked over or sat down for five the Oilers just looked dominant.

The Oil inflicted a good old-fashioned hiding, but the Knights got a point today, so the Oil are 2 pts behind with 2 games left each for both teams. Still in it, but they will need help from the Kraken in both of their remaining games since they play the Knights in a home-and-home to close out the regular season.

One stupid OT loss to Vegas is going to lose the Oilers the conference.
If only they could have been perfect in 15 straight games, it was ours.

I was thinking the same thing, Ekholm is the closest thing we've had to CFP since 2006.. dominates the ice.

I was impressed with that win.
The Oilers came off back to back wins against the Kings and Ducks. Playoffs were clinched, they had a day off so it looks like they were able to hang out in California, play some golf. Afternoon game against a crap team. It could have been a game where they were a little sleepy, maybe didn't go all out and let it slip away.
They didn't. They put their foot down on the pedal. From start to finish they were the superior team. They continued to be good defensively, good on the PK, buried chances, they probably could have had more if not for some good saves by Reimer. Got good goaltending and beat a team they should be convincingly.

Worth noting - the Oilers secured home ice advantage with this win and the Kings loss Saturday.
Hopefully the Kraken bring their game face to at least the first game here. There is some danger that they'll rest a bunch of players for the last game of the season. They are playing decent hockey lately so not a foregone conclusion.
If the Kraken can take two points off them, then the Oilers hold the tie breakers, so we'd hold our fate in our own hands.
Crazily, the Kraken could potentially catch the Kings now and finish in third too...
