He's not the only one- Nurse with a piss-poor attempt to clear the puck along the boards when two Ducks were waiting there for it was a bit of a brain-dead moment.

They seem to be forcing it to Nuge to make sure he gets a touch to get his 100th point.

Horrible as that garbage that Wpg and Cgy were playing, I'm disappointed to say the Oilers so far haven't played much better.
Heh, Kostin scores. C'mon boys, jump on.

Sometimes it takes a Kostin to overcome the kryptonite of a backup goalie.

And the Kostin line strikes again! Good to see the secondary scoring really picking up the slack...

Jack getting the job done...
...just another note: I'm kinda impressed with Derek Ryan the last few games. As an undersized player, this guy is giving up his body on the forecheck against bigger bodies all of the time. Good for him. Lets face it. The next domino to fall might be 10 when McLeod gets back. And Rafael Lavoi is on the horizon from the Bake when the rosters expand or next year for sure.. Anyway... a good soldier.
...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

Glad to see this, as hopefully it means he is rebuilding his confidence in time for the playoffs.

Derek Ryan has been pretty damn good all year. Good utility player. If he comes out, they're probably going to need him at some point in the playoffs. McLeod was playing iffy sometimes before he went down, not a guarantee he plays every game either.

It’s all between the ears with Jack. I’m happy for him, the team and the fans that he is regaining some confidence. I could care less about another shut out. I am just curious how he will rebound from the next goal against.
Tailspin or shrugs it off. Seems like a good dude. Would love to see him develop some consistency.

Agreed... McLeod is good, but 10 has been "safer". I have every confidence with 10 not turning the puck over in pressure. Ryan? ...not so sure at this point in his career.

I had to read this like 3 times before I remembered that McLeod first name was Ryan. I was so confused.
I agree that Derek Ryan has been solid all season. He is the ideal bottom 6 player, a guy who has been the MVP of a lower league before, so he still has that scoring ability, but was able to develop the other parts of his game so that he becomes (as stated) a solid utility player.

Bad clearing attempt by Kulak leads to a goal against. Not blaming Jack on that one.

That ain't on Campbell.

Might be one of the bigger adjustments by the Oilers for the most part recently is defending at their blue line. Happens more often, nice play by Nurse.

Weird that ever left. Was one of the biggest changes last year that turned our season around, and we seemed to just toss it in the toilet for the first half of this season.

I'd sit Shore before Ryan. Ryan just can offer more elements. Shore is always just a guy.

I will say, while a lot of it is mental with Campbell, I don't think it's the whole story. He's a very active goalie in the crease - which is just not ideal. Goalies like that rely so much on athleticism that it doesn't take much for things to go wrong. Oilers management loves goalies that "battle" but really it is exactly the wrong attributes to look for. It's inefficient goaltending, and a lot of the great saves are because the positioning isn't ideal.
He's been better the last couple games though, I'm happy to see. Hopefully he can hold the fort here and we can add an insurance goal or two.

Haha - although all three of them could have scored there. Not sure why Nuge gave it back or why McDavid went to Hyman after that.

Well, gotta get Hyman his ppg season. I thought he was over but he has 80. Zack dropped off the pace a bit, otherwise he might have had a shot at 100. One hell of a season though. The Oilers might not have made it if Nuge and Hyman hadn't really upped it this year.
