This goes without saying. I don’t like Dallas
Not near as much as I hate Toronto or Calgary. But the dislike is there
Get a win

I'm thinking the predictions may be closer to even on this game. Just a hunch.

I'd start Campbell tonight. Saturday's game against the Kraken is far more important and eventually Stu is going to need a night off. But why not ride a rookie into the ground?

Given how tight the standings are, the Oil don't have the luxury of tossing games away like they would be by starting Jacky-Boy.

I'd argue the opposite. Seven points up on Nashville with 17 Predators games to go and two other teams between us and them, we are just not in much danger of missing the playoffs. The team would have to completely melt down now for that to happen.
Half our games are against teams who are out of the playoff picture too - so there's only a few more games that are of the highest priority - the Seattle one being one of those.
Campbell is 17-9-4, so despite some real challenges with his play, I don't think it's fair to say that the points are automatically forfeit when he starts.
Of greater concern to me would be the amount that Skinner has played. Here's his games played stats since turning pro - these are all in numbers at NHL, AHL & ECHL levels including both regular season and playoffs:
2018-19 - 51 games played
2019-20 - 44 games
2020-21 - 38 games
2021-22 - 53 games
He's already at 40 games this year and we are hoping he's the playoff starter through several rounds of playoffs. Worth knowing is that he underperformed in the playoffs Bakersfield the last two years too with a significant drop-off in his numbers.
I think we need to make sure he stays fresh, so I would be looking to play the goalies close to evenly down the stretch. At most maybe 8 games for Skinner compared to 6 games for Campbell. Give him all the time off we can now, because that's not going to be an option for much of the post-season.

Yeah, I have no fear of missing the playoffs if I’m management but a big fear of burning out a goalie to get into third. I go 2 for skinner 1 for Campbell the rest of the way. I think you put the pressure and trust into Campbell to get them into hosting a series. Long term the Oilers need Campbell more than they need a couple extra wins this year.

And the Oilers should know better than most that goalie injuries can happen in the playoffs. Giving some confidence to Campbell would be a good idea, since if Skinner were to get hurt, then he's basically our only hope. Not playing him for two months ahead of that probably wouldn't be ideal.

This will be a good playoff level test..
Ottenger is good.. Dallas is physical..
Missing McLeod tonight..
Hyman sounds like he's back in, but not 100%.
The addition of Ekholm will be noticeable .. as well as Bjugstad.
Bjugstad has been a pleasant surprise to me so far, thought he'd be a marginal addition, but his size and reach, decent speed, and face off ability, and right handed, has been a positive, especially on PK..
