I know going into this season, they were extremely high on him. They could sorely use a big dman that can move and defend well.

One dman does not change this team. Especially a 3rd pairing 8 minute a night dman or a 7th dressed 3 minute a night dman.

To change this d, you need someone who can play with Nurse to cover his deficiencies or play with Bouchard to relieve the reliance on Nurse and Ceci.

This team sorely needs Chychrun but has a blubbering baboon at the helm

A 7th defenceman with 2 points in 13 AHL games this year. I don't see him being much of a game-changer for us. 6'6 though, so I'm sure he'll be a fan favourite.

True but we need to do something. This isn’t working what we are doing

Hell at this point I’m willing to throw an application in

Oh I agree. We keep hearing “the prices now are higher than they would be at the TDL, gotta just see what this group can do for now”… but goodness we know what this group is and it’s not good enough.

Wasting 97.

Hopefully this means they send Bustberg down for the rest of the year. See if he can round into a nice #6 NHL d man after a couple more seasons in the AHL. Just an atrocious miss on a draft pick reach. But yeah. Untouchable as part of a package for Chychrun

I have seen some real good stuff from Broberg this year. Should he be further along of course! But, I think Manson hadn't adjusted to coaching at NHL level. The problem is your top D man is a number 4 of 5 on most teams contending.

At this point let the young guys all go. Can’t be any worse than a top pairing of Nurse and. Ceci

I've heard a few people say this, and I'm open and hoping to be wrong. What do you see?

Live, I make an effort to watch him specifically and I see a guy who plays way too soft, doesn't use his speed often enough, and doesn't have a shot. I will say that his positioning has been better than many of his teammates'.

Just as an example; o Holloway's slapper goal a few games back. That was all Broberg. I find he holds the line well and does make a solid outlet. I agree, his lack of physicality sucks

Expected to make his debut tonight and will wear 73.

Only other Oiler to wear 73, Valentin Zykov, former 2nd round pick of the LA Kings (2013) who had a cup of coffee in Edmonton in 2018 (claimed off waivers in November from Carolina then waived in December, claimed by Vegas)

Smart number selection. The dude is guaranteed to get exactly one endorsement.
