Just tuned in to see we've allowed 20 shots in the first 17 minutes (we have 7 shots). Nice work boys. Thank McJesus for Skinner I guess. Still scoreless.

And then promptly gets caught taking a half step towards the offensive zone and leaving his man to score 4 feet in front of his own net.

I’m not sure what we’re supposed to be seeing with Broberg, but I’ve seen NOTHING from him that should make him untouchable in a trade.

For the most part I agree. Every time he gets sent down I see highlights of some amazing play. Then he comes up and is just kinda there. I wonder if he is in his own head too much and not trusting his instincts. Maybe coaches are giving him full KISS instructions?

What decisions, or lack thereof, by both D and MCDavid. No one seemed to take away lanes at all.
I didn't notice McDavid trying to leave early but I did notice him in the middle doing nothing of purpose.

I seen that differently. It appeared he was trying to anticipate the play. I wouldn’t call that 1/2 step an attempt to fly the zone. Perhaps I’m wrong.

You are right.
Just showed the higher angle, both McDavid and the far side D bit out on the fake to Ovechkin

Oshie getting to stand right in front of skinner with mcdavid, Barrie and kulak all 5 feet from him is pretty comical. Especially after oshie got the exact same opportunity just before, plus strome untouched getting to hack at the rebound multiple times.

I don't understand why this team sucks so much defensively now. I still am trying to get what Barrie was doing on that 2-2 goal.

Long shift. All forwards just noped out caring what could happen as our D were looking at a 3 on 2 if the puck is bobbled at the blue line.

He is very much not ready from what I can see. What happened to the overripe thing? Broberg isn't even a little ripe. Going to be a late bloomer, if he ever blooms.

From the next thread;

clutchlikeeberle wrote on Mon, 05 December 2022 22:29

This team is flawed, I didn't expect it, but the longer Manson is our D coach, the worst our D is. We give too much space, don't get to free pucks fast enough, and get outworked for near every puck battle. We don't care to start the game on time; need I go on? But none of this matters unless I can go find some fancy stats to back every statement up #eyetestdoesn'tmatter

One comment about your drivel sure has your back up doesn't it? Did it hit a little too close to home? At least you have a new repetitive post to add to every thread.
All you have done now is show that in addition to to lacking insight you also don't seem to understand analytics or even basic reading comprehension.

I said this;

PlusOne wrote on Mon, 05 December 2022 21:16

Every time he gets sent down I see highlights of some amazing play. .

I will go point form to make it easier for you
- I didnt mention analystics
- I dont watch the condors
- with my eyes I have seen highlights of him doing good things in other leagues that we dont get to see here.

Good, not on Oilers

Bad, on Oilers;

The one thing analytics and the eye test have in common is if the user lacks ability, neither one is going to be very useful in a discussion.

I seem to remember Oilfans was way ahead on Jiri Dopita. I believe he was also called the Mark Messier of the Czech league. He was one of those longshot / we have no money / our new management has no idea what they're doing acquisitions.

It seemed like back then a minor trade or a call up made it “must see TV” that evening. Lots of hope. Don’t ask me about “hope” right here today though.
