First color comment from Florida's TV broadcast: the Oilers look like they're going to play very passive on the PK. Sounds right.

Barrie went full Barrie on that shift.
Holloway dump and forecheck caused a turnover that went to Draisaitl.
Drai makes a pass to an open Barrie who is jumping into the play, Barrie bobbles it and the play comes the Oilers way.
Barrie back checks to open ice, not to a Panther.
Player he could have taken gets the puck.
Barrie stands in the slot looking back and forth as Skinner makes a save.

I am making a point to watch Barrie throughout shifts to see if he is as bad as I have perceived or am I just being biased.

Watching one player for a shift is tough on TV but it takes me back to the scouting days. It is a neat way to watch hockey if you are disciplined enough to do it.

Credit where it is due. Nice shot by him.
Another positive note. He doesn't seem to leak chances like I exacted going into my plan to isolate on him. Perhaps I am wrong about him to a degree. Meaning that his big errors are huge and often lead to a high end chance but he doesn't consistently defend as poorly as I thought.

Small sample size but he is defending better than I expected so far.

(hey G2K, who am I talking about?)

I thought I would get used to the digital adds but they are still super distracting at times, especially when there is a color scheme similar to one of the teams.
There was a red/black remembrance day one during the 4 on 4. The red was the same as the Panthers and it was driving me nuts trying to follow the play.
Worst addition to the broadcast since the glowing puck.

The one real upside for the NHL on this is it makes the game look much much worse for streamers. Everything except the NHL looks fine on my TV, the NHL looks terrible.

Do you mean official streaming or less than legal streaming?
I stream for SportsNet on my laptop to my TV via chromecast and it looks fine.

Agreed. It’s insane. We have trouble limiting teams to less than 35 shots. Defense is still our kryptonite big time

Let’s hope we can score here on the Pp

Yep, I picked a good game to focus on him. I can forgive a LOT of defensive breakdowns when Barrie's offensive talents make up for it.
