I know he's got the points and will get acclaim for it, but Drai looks like he's improved since Friday. His skating is getting better, by the end of the series we'll have him back.

Not sure we'll see Lucic in the next game, that was a dumb ass play by the donkey. No need for that, but what do you expect from him?

Keep playing like this and we'll all be happy until next month possibly.

I’m hoping Lucic plays game 4.

He will hurt the Flames more than the Oilers.

Great win. McDavid amazing. Kane finally breaks out, he was due for sure. Thank goodness Ceci not injured. Looch still a POS.

That was just a great way to end the weekend. Markstrom seemed to be on in the first, facing all those shots, but then the second blew it open.

Hopefully the doubt is creeping in

Sutter must have been mad at his players. Refuses to pull the goalie, even with the powerplay. Expect the lames to come out like they have a double dose of Sudafed in game 4.

Man, was that ever satisfying. Great job by Smith tonight. Agree that Drai is looking better. Hyman is amazing. Like the Energizer Bunny that one. Best UFA signing in a long time for this club (man was I wrong on that one).

And then Connor McDavid. I believe we are being treated to the highest level of hockey ever played by any single player. What fortune for us to win the right to draft this kid.

This is the game I was hoping for Wednesday before getting kicked square in the junk less than a minute in. This team - the team that we saw the first 50 minutes - this team can beat anyone. Can’t wait for Tuesday now. LFG!!!!

Took a look at CalgaryPuck, and there are a surprising number of people that thought Lucic did a great job running at Smith. I agree that he could have hit Smith a lot harder, but he could have also not hit him at all, so thats a dumb argument.

A lot also acting like the Flames played a fantastic 3rd period. They were better, but the Oilers were wnot playing their top guys as much, and pretty much sat back and played keep away during the PP, and outside maybe the first 5 minutes of the 3rd they didn't seem like a huge threat.

I'm sure they will come out hard in the next game, but the Oilers are showing that they are not a tier below Calgary, as most analysts seemed to treat them coming into the series.

Man, Oilers wins always feel good, but playoff wins and against Cowgary, that's the stuff behind glass on the high shelf, you gotta blow some dust off before you crack a jug and pour one. It just manufactures dopamine or endorphins, whatever, but it's a feeling of wellbeing and it's probably why people become hooked as fans. I've been jonesing for this for awhile.

The guys summoned one of their best games of the season. LD, I don't know what's going on there, but he might be able to play center sooner than people think....not that the current configuration isn't bad. So many good things from the more sublime up to the big time performance in the 2nd period.

The Oilers are slowly injecting anxiety into the wee pea brains of the Flames. The clots over there that had the big seasons are fading. Their big D can't defend if the Oilers keep after them. The Vezina candidate is having doubts. The Oilers aren't intimidated by these posers.

Going forward the team should do nothing apart from flooring it, don't sit back at any point until you've won 2 more.

Yes so lucky that was the game we got. It had everything. You’re pretty nervous when you spend big money all for one night. Feels like potentially irresponsible gambling. Thank god (Connor)!!

The atmosphere after the game is maybe the craziest part. Walking down the street, every car honking, high fiving a hundred people…it seemed to be going on for at least an hour.

Appreciate the suggestions for the trip from everyone, we pretty much did all of them. Campio was a great spot. Love the people of Edmonton. Just nice friendly and helpful. Vancouver and Kelowna, people can be self-serving and superficial.

Anyway, hungover in the airport drinking a booster juice. Start that Oilfans gofundme and I’ll return for all the playoff games you want!

Woodcroft addressing Spector's constant panic over how many games Smith is playing in a row, "It's not like he played 63 games in the regular season". 63 is how many Marky played :)

I'd rather have Lucic in the lineup for the Flames though. His acceleration is terrible, can't turn and provides virtually no offense.

He's a perfect pylon for the Oilers to feast on.

I actually like Sutter a lot. He's shown a lot of respect to the Oilers, hasn't been a prick about calls against the Flames, and he's pretty funny at times as well.

Sutter deserves no ire from the Oil faithful.

Hahaha... CalgaryPuck.

I'm just happy that this series has been competitive and fun. Let's not injure people along the way... that'll sour the memories we'll get from it.

Just play good solid hockey. A little chippiness is fine, but I really hope the teams avoid dirty tactics.

A lot also acting like the Flames played a fantastic 3rd period.

Calgary started the third on fire, earned a power play and subsequently killed their momentum. The Smith run, ensuing scrum and major delay did nothing to get their momentum back either. Calgary rarely scared me last night. Wonderful to have a lower stress playoff game for once!

Was pretty obvious DoPS doesn’t have an eye on the flames after the Tkachuk classic reverse hit and elbow to Kulak’s head in game 1

Shows the Flames targeting Draisatl's ankle with slashes, looks like an actual team strategy.. I counted 5 slashes at his ankle.. makes one wonder whether Lucic running Smith was premeditated..

Before anyone waxes too poetic about Sutter, just remember that it's him telling the Flames players to do this.

Lindholm actually bending over reaching to make extra slashes. Nasty stuff. Zero doubt Sutter is putting this on the game plan. Pulling Marky before taking a run at Smith was a good move too.

Don't let the innocent looking droopy face fool you, Sutter is no stranger to dirty tactics :)

There's a huge number of slashes at Draisaitl's ankles in this series. The Flames are chopping away on him every chance they get, and I've yet to see it get penalized too. Just after the play, any time there's a scrum, some Flame is acting the lumberjack.

So dirty and underhanded. Sutter is a rat.
