KINGS won... Don't the OILERS know they are playing 4pt games every game now???
correction from the GD thread...
22/75/71... as a group or individually, are there 3 softer players in pro hockey?
...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

I’d argue there are several TML players that literally melt in the playoffs 😏

Going forward, one needs to be moved. Can’t have 1/3 of your blueline being so easy to play against in the corners and in front of the net. Barrie is the most obvious candidate to be moved for multiple reasons. Plus there are some young physical guys bubbling up for playing time.
Holland should be able to move a perennial 50 point RHD on a decent contract with term for only a few sweeteners and a bad contract coming back.

Well that sucked. For whatever reason, regardless of how the Wild are coached or the personnel, they just always have had our number.
Anyway - move on. 5 points up on Vegas, each with 8 games to play. Win the next 2 and we'll almost be there.

Looks like the team decide not to show up last night. It was definitely a game where I am glad I wasn't able to watch it live. Wild seem to have the Oilers number.
A couple of things that bothered me after a watched some of the goals and the game.
- Obviously the give aways. The team handled the puck like is was a bouncy ball. Just sloppy as hell.
- The 3rd goal. I don't like where that came from.
- The 3rd goal. Bouchard. The guy has tools to be a real good offensive dman and I think he has the smarts and the game to be OK defensively. But my god, please, please, please grow a set. He gets the puck, hears footsteps, sees a guy coming and he literally fires it up the wall like a scared little boy just wanting to get rid of it as fast as he can because he's afraid to get hit. I think it was Zuccarello coming at him, it wasn't a big guy anyway but the way he reacted, you'd think it was Lucic barreling down on him. Bouchard is 6'3, almost 200 lbs, if someone nudges you, you will be OK dude. As a dman, contact is going to happen.
-McLeod. I love his speed, I love the skill and I love the fact he has all that with his size. But just like Bouchard, my god, grow a set. He's 6'2, almost 210. Fighting is almost out of the game now. No one expects you to fight, you don't even have to be a guy that tries to put people through the boards but get in there!! Stop standing there looking scared to touch someone. Yamo is tiny and he's almost picking fights with guys like Rantanen who's got 8 inches and almost 70 lbs on him. Yamo is flying around acting like a bowling ball at 150 lbs. When there is a scrum happening, get in there McLeod!! Maybe finish a bloody check once in awhile.

Yep - throw that one away and worry about the next one. It wasn't pretty (especially if your name is Duncan Keith) but it's over and in the rearview and we win a few more and it doesn't matter at all.
Even with the loss, we got a point closer to the playoffs last night with the Golden Knights OTL to Vancouver - so it's not all bad!
That Talbot guy looked decent in goal for the Wild. How does one go about getting a guy like that?

I PVR’d and watched later. Within the first 5 minutes of watching I saw Drai tackled twice and Yamomoto once all in clear view of team NHL and no calls. Immediately went to FF and only lost about 20 mins of life, phew!!
I really hate the NHL sometimes.

Interesting comments post game between Kane and Hartman. Shockingly I have to agree with Evander on this one. Hartman chose his moment to be brave carefully.
HARTMAN: “He gave Kirill a shot from behind in a very vulnerable spot,” Hartman said of Kane. “It goes to show, we had five guys in there. They didn’t have one guy in there to help him."
As the two were being escorted off the ice, Hartman flipped off Kane. The forward said post-game that any fine that comes from that action would be "well worth it."
KANE: "It took all five guys and they couldn't bring me down," Kane said. "It's something, I definitely would have liked to get loose, put it that way.
"These little guys, they wanna act tough but they wait for the linesman to come in. There's your quote guys."

The funny part is that scrum started because Kirill gave a smaller guy a cheap shot. I thought McLeod(?) and Yamo were fully engaged in it. Hatman scurried around the outside looking for a gaps to get at Kane when it was 3 on 3.
I felt Kane should have got one less penalty and Kirill should have gotten one for starting the whole thing.

Yeah, I watched the clip again this morning. I'm not sure why people are concerned about the Oilers response. Yamamoto and McLeod were definitely involved and the defence came in to even the numbers too, but it developed quickly. Kane was shoving with such dangerous tough guys as Kaprizov, Zuccarello and Hartman and the refs were in quickly so it wasn't like he badly needed protection, or like it needed to become some kind of line brawl.
The only thing that was surprising about the whole thing really is the two of them giving snarky quotes about each other after the game.

I think I read on twitter that Kane and Hartman has something go one between them over the last couple of years. Probably some old beef.

Kaprizov flails his stick like a 6 year old learning to skate. Also, try go between the legs in a blowout and you deserve what you get.

I had turned the game off at this point so I missed it live. Saw this twitter feed of (apparently) Hartman's Venmo notifications. Looks like NHLers don't actually have to pay their fines sometimes.

Thought I’d update this:

He’s donating the funds and paying the fine on his own. While I’m still okay with Kane beating him up down the road, this is a nice gesture.
