Another game where the Oilers will get a taste of what playoff hockey is like. Good for them.

Especially considering we're once again starting Mike Smith...maybe this will be the game where he tweaks something again and Skinner can finally come back?

He'll bee visibly uncomfortable in the 1st but insist on staying in to battle against the first 3 GA. What's the o/u on weird lunges forward at pucks tonight? 5.5?

5.5 FLoP (forward lunge on [air]puck) sounds like some easy money on the over

Still not our best lineup.

Archibald has not been good. Don’t understand why Ryan is out.

I'd probably play Shore or Ryan over Archibald but we are talking about the 12th forward so whatever.

I would ALWAYS play Ryan over Archibald, who's numbers have been atrocious so far this year.

And every player is important so I don't think it makes any sense to just consider the bottom line as throw-away guys. Play your best roster. I don't think that's too much to ask.

I don't think it's "whatever". The Oilers have been outscored 47-70 at 5x5 without Connor or Leon on the ice this year.

The makeup of the bottom 6 definitely matters, and Archibald's results have been awful (by far the worst on the team), this year.

Oilers Goal Differential
17/18: 234 GF / 263 GA (-29)
18/19: 232 GF / 274 GA (-42)
19/20 (82 game pace): 257 GF / 254 GA (+3) in 64 games
2021 (82 game pace):269 GF / 235 GA (+34) after 38 games

Great. Thanks for the information. I literally said I would pick someone else over him but they chose not too. I'm not going to stress too much about the 12th forward.

Unless #12 is going to blow the doors off, I agree. The Oilers are naturally going to double shift McDavid and Draisaitl so why pretend like rolling 4 lines is ever going to happen?

They should have dressed 11 / 6 / 3 for the Flames game.

Are you allowed to dress 3 goalies? Seems like someone would try that someday.

Seventh defenceman is now Kris Russell though...not exactly an upgrade over most of our 12th forward options. Maybe if Broberg was still up...
