Good start for BroBeast in the AHL. In SteelCroft we trust.

9 apples in 12 games.

Highlight of one of his nice plays couple games ago

Lots of love for Manson on defenceman development too.

And some criticism that once they get to Edmonton they then have to have Playfair instead...

I can confirm this report from Rasmus. The Oilers are calling up defenceman Philip Broberg from AHL Bakersfield. Slater Koekkoek sustained a lower-body injury last night vs. WPG.

Good. Maybe we can sit Keith.

But knowing Tippett, we'll be fed steady doses of Russell while Broberg eats popcorn.

Goes he turn the puck over in his own zone?
Is he a defensive liability when forced to play actual defence?

These are the questions Oiler fans have had for the Potis and Gilberts and Schultzs, and none of them could say yes.

Just give us defensemen that can play defence.

I am a fan who appreciates a physical dman but the big thing for me is does he use his body at all to get position on guys and win puck battles. With the nature of the position which is you are defending and trying to STOP the opposition from scoring and getting to your goal. While not every dman needs to try to put a guy through the boards on every shift, I think it's pretty tough to do your job properly if you don't have some level on contact in your play.

For those wanting to look back in time and know if they were on the right or wrong side of history...

Always interesting to see how these things age.

lol, randomly opening some posts and found this gold from 2020:

"Mark Spector @SportsnetSpec
Philip Broberg has already passed Evan Bouchard on the Edmonton Oilers depth chart."

Guess Broberg did a rush in a team scrimmage and Spector had him in the starting lineup already.

The quality of Oilers media is just forever stuck below the common sense of the average fan.
