Miiiiiikko!!

Not the prettiest win. Seemed to play down to the Flyers level, though through a taxing road trip down several key forwards a great result.

We’re on to Chicago.

Mikko and Stuey should be the tandem.

I was going to join the GDT, but after one period of a Koskinen/Edmonton shut out period I figured I wouldn’t chance the hockey gods.

Ugly game. Philly is non bueno, but we have lost to worse teams with worse efforts.

Bank’em.

39 shots against, happy for 19 for the SO.

They could have lost tonight without the goaltending they got, and probably lose against Chicago with the same effort and the same refusal to generate shots on the PP.

Foegele elevated doesn't wo much for me. He was playing well with Nuge for a stretch but hasn't so much since. Hope Nuge is back in a week or so.

Have a chance to get 6 out of 10 pts on this trip and they'd better have a good effort in Chicago. Koskinen should definitely start I'd say, hope he maintains his play.

Well deserved Shutout by Kosko, he earned that one.

After watching Malone tonight I'm wondering why he was down in Bako and we were stuck with a few worse guys staying up on the Oil.. the guy has decent speed, plays good position, finishes checks.

I like the left side of our defense right now.. its the right side that's the weak link.. except for Ceci.. he's playing well.

I think Bouch or Barrie can be a solid 3, playing sheltered minutes. But man oh man forcing one of them at this point with nurse doesn’t inspire confidence.

10 games into the Woodcroft era. 7-3-0. And still played pretty well in at least a couple of those losses.

Think we are getting into the end of what you would call the coach dump period. Hopefully keep on rollin!

Can't really argue.

I would argue that putting a 39 year old goalie back in net after an extended injury recovery time without a conditioning stint in Bakersfield may not have been the best management/coaching strategy by this team.

As long as they don't decide to ride Koskinen until he burns out again, I'm happy. I would not start him tomorrow.

I thought Malone was fine. He probably won't give you much offense but in as a 4th liner, I thought he did his job pretty well. He hasn't played in the NHL in a few years but he didn't look out of place. He drilled MacEwen which was great. Interesting in his first game, he played more than Benson and Shore who have been with the team for the whole season. Clearly Woodcroft trusts him.

For my taste, I think you need to have a few guys that bring a physical dimension to your 4th line while not crushing you defensively.

The schedule eases up (only one back-to-back in March), so you can look for match-ups. I would actually play Kostko in the harder game @CHI and let Smith play vs MTL on Saturday. Then the big decision is who plays @CGY on Mon.

Any chance they put Smith on the shelf and bring Skinner back up, or is that simply too much battle to shelf?

Ok, BUT what is he was a Battler and asked to be put right back in on a back-to-back after putting up a stinker?
