I always remembered Salo as guy that would play great or fudge the bed utterly. Also seemed prone to the odd epic brain fart at the worst times. Miles ahead of these guys now though. Joseph was incredible. I remember those 2 game 7s in 1997 and 1998. He was just unbeatable. I kinda miss cheering for those heart and soul teams. If this current squad had half their work ethic we would have a cup by now.

Salo was the team MVP for something like six years in a row. I think a lot of people's memories of Salo are really coloured by his last season here when the wheels just completely came off - there was no gradual downward slide for Tommy and Belarus did seem to break him (although I've read that that goal shouldn't have counted due to the shot hitting him in the mask, which theoretically should have stopped play at the time).
Welcome back Baba! It's nice to see a couple familiar faces return...sadly it's not for a Cup run.

He was a really good goalie. He just wasn't a guy I felt really comfortable watching when he played. It could be hit and miss. He was good more often then not though.
