The Devils broadcast is saying Smith was out with an ankle injury. Did we know that? I thought we were talking about old man knees a month ago.

LOL.
In fairness to Hall, I've wanted to throw a waterbottle at Eakins all season.

The Oilers CLEARLY did not stay up all night to get ready for this game like any rational person would have suggested.

It's now been 13 days and 6 periods of hockey since the Oilers have had a PP.

Interesting that the fans are shoulder to shoulder in the seats and at the concessions, but the interview of the McLeods by the illustrious Principe has an awkward distance.

Keith gets clearly tripped on a Oilers offensive zone possession, of course no penalty.

Drain dragging his arse to the bench looked like it was close to offside but that nice feed from Keith to Connor counts. Phew. Better play from the Oil in the 2nd.

This might be a record for hand pass stoppages. Must have been in the officiating memo.

As questionable as the Keith acquisition was and is... I haven't seen an Oilers D make a pass like that in a long long time.

Yep. CFP used to make them regularly, but other than maybe Lubo I can't think of anyone else who could consistently make passes like that.

Devils are a Mickey Mouse organization.

I didn't know you could stop for "missed game stoppage". If they call this back that would be insane. There was no possession at all.

I'd say Hamilton played the puck.
I've seen the Oilers tip the puck a couple times this year on delayed penalties and it doesn't stop the play.

He was a lot closer to playing it than Hughes, for sure.

Non-challengeable. LMAO. Weirdest thing I’ve seen since Nuge took the penalty from the future.

Yeah, how do they even let it be a challenge? They must have spent all that time checking the rule book.

Good job NHL. It takes nearly 10 minutes to determine that possession in a delayed penalty is not challengable.... at least I think that's what the ref was trying to say.
The officiating center in TO is already into the booze on NY eve.
