Anderson throwing at Yams? That headbutt should get supplementary discipline. 🤣 Someone should feed Jockey a few.

That needs to be looked at by the league.

There's an edge to the game, I get the feeling that one more little incident and it's going to explode again and wouldn't shock me to see another line brawl and even goalie fight.

Yammer and Jesse both getting into Markstrom's face is good to see and it's winding the Flames up. Just need the put the game to bed early in the 2nd and control it out.

Yep, it didn't seem to cause much damage but he definitely was an intentional head butt.

It's been nice to see the Oilers laughing at Flames when they pretend to be tough guys. Keep earning PP's and making them pay, once you are up by enough you teach a couple of dummies a lesson.

I guess the new cross checking crack down doesn’t apply when there’s already a double minor in the box.

The refs kicked it off by going into game management mode.

Refs have been bad, but they’ve done us some favours too. That Lucic call was awful. I don’t think it’s the refs that are the reason we are being outplayed.

I do think it is game management that gave the flims so much momentum - due as much to the missed calls on the fLames as much as the calls that were made. Thay were clutching and interfering all night.

Yup. For those old enough to remember clearly, the Oilers used to have all sorts of trouble with the flambes the last time he was coach. There appears to be an unwritten rule to just “let the boys play” when a Sutter is involved and just use the ruke book as a list of suggested rules of play.

Yeah that was game management on full display, especially the McD call. Lots of flem penalties not called, like mangey-pony punching Nurse in the head in a scrum in full view of the ref. Or the interference on Foegle on his breakaway.

Not a very good game so far. We’ve been opportunistic, which is good. But we are getting outplayed by a pretty meh Flames squad.

The team should start trying to push a little more. We just can’t sit on leads. We don’t have the team to button it down and if the Opposition gets 50 shots, it makes it pretty tough. Especially when your goalie is a fossil.

Also, Cody Ceci makes Kris Russell look like a puck-mover extraordinaire. He’s really bad.

Yep. Lots of red flags. 97/29 do not look good in the 1 game and 2/3 of play so far this year at ES. I’m sure it’ll work itself out, but that second line is looking alright. Maybe flipping Yamamoto and Draisaitl?

Bouchard looks solid and I’ll be okay if Russell sits for a while. Koekkoek looks better than #6.

There are few things I hate less than punches in the head after the play no getting called. I don’t know why that isn’t just an automatic minor every single time it happens.

Tkachuk is a wizard at timing the first cheap shot to land just as the linesman gets inbetween.

Andersen learning from him too. Fists flying as soon as he notices the ref has his arms around Yams. Why are refs always so bad at picking the right guy to grab onto?

Have to say Anderson is the most gutless puke on the flames (Turtle close 2nd.. OK tie?), picks out the smallest guy on the Oilers and then head butts him in the face, should have been a game misconduct.
Likes to play pretend tough by singling out the smallest guys on the other teams, or waits until there is a scrum, and/or refs, so the other guy is tied up and can't get at him.

Over rated playing defense as well, slow and dumb.. and I'm glad Flames signed him long term :)

Mangiapane was bit of douch bag tonight as well.. coming in and punching Nurse in the head after the whistle while he was tied up with two other flames..

Its just a Douche team, with a rich and long Douche history.. their Douche identity hasn't changed since the 80's.
