Yep, he hasn’t played since that goal. Like I said, Holland needs to get a good D-man to push Bear down the rotation. I’m wondering why Tipp didn’t just keep Kulikov and scratch him from the line-up.

..because Kulikoff-up has coughing up a few himself, Tippet kept what he thought was the best of the weak links, but apparently picked wrong.

Yep. The sequence leading up to that goal was this team in a nut shell. Terrible zone coverage by all 5 skaters. Not a good play by a defenseman. Other 4 guys panic. Jets make a passing play that leaves the Oilers looking like Pee Wee players.

You could fill in many names to the generic terms I used above and it would be a believable play description.

Smith, in Calgary, STOOD on his head and gave the fLames a chance against Colorado who ultimately were too much.

The fLames then decided they needed more Gritensity and made the deal to get Lucic.

I feel the fear in everything these players are doing. They are just terrified out there. Wish they could have more time to learn to be comfortable in actual high pressure hockey

Cut Jess Bc Connor didn’t appreciate the lack of zest on that pass. Love the fire. But it’s the kids first playoff rodeo. He was arguably the teams best forward early in the series.

Keeping Bear on the bench is addition by subtraction. He just isn’t cutting it in playoff hockey.

They'd be on a bus to the airport for game 5 if 74 hadn't crapped the bed, again.
74 is also the one that didn't cover his man Schieffele on the 1-0 PP goal, classic photo of three (yes three) Oilers all going to Copp, on his back hand, leaving Schieffle wide open for the slap shot in the slot.

I can’t help but think back to 2006 when Pronger was patrolling the blue-line in an Oiler jersey. He is one of those defencemen who just made you feel secure that the opponents wouldn’t score during his shifts. There is a reason he got three teams to Cup finals.
