Ottawa's been around .500 since the Oilers beat them down, so it's not a guaranteed win.
Hoping we avoid the blender tonight. I'm getting as confused as a HNIC play-by-play commentator trying to figure out who's on the ice with who each period.

Should win!

It would be really nice to see the Oilers just continue to kick this team while it's down.

They're coming off playing last night in what looked like a pretty emotional win, so hopefully we can take advantage. It will definitely help if our starter tonight doesn't allow three in the first 20-25 minutes of the game.

Full circle back to a McDrai line. Tips solution to Nuge not working with McD is Nuge centering the 2nd line and top loading the 1st line.

Lineup from the article:

Draisaitl – McDavid – Yamamoto

Ennis – Nugent-Hopkins – Puljujarvi

Shore – Khaira – Turris

Neal – Haas – Chiasson

Nurse – Barrie

Russell – Larsson

Jones – Bear

Koskinen

Should be enough against Ottawa (and against the Lames last game of course). But, do we end up with the same issue we dealt with forever against decent teams? Shut down 1 line and we have absolutely nothing left.

Completely agree. As much as I am a BIG Jesse Puljujarvi fan, I really don’t like he makeup of that second line. Who transports the puck? Who’s the driver? Do they just dump it in and Ennis/JP try to get it back on the forecheck?

Also, Turris? Man. It’s too bad they didn’t keep McLeod up here.

Might also be looking at this as a way to score first for a change, maybe build up a little lead and then move to a more balanced, defensively aware type line-up once in the lead. Makes sense on paper, but they would also need to not spot the other team a goal or 2 early. Koskinen needs to make some saves too.

I don't like the make up of the second line either. I have said it before, Nuge is good top 6 winger not a good top 6 center in my opinion. Nuge is a complimentary player and you can't be an effective center when you are a complimentary player. I see the driver on that line being JP and that is a problem in my opinion because I look at JP as basically a rookie this season and asking him to drive the line isn't fair to him in my opinion. Not saying he can't but just a lot to ask of him. I am hoping putting McD and Leon on the same line is just to get those 2 going again as they came out of the Leafs series looking a bit defeated. The Oilers are a superior team when they are broken up.

I was hoping that Turris's scratch time was the reset he needed to get going. So far, he has done nothing and is just a placeholder for Archie. If Turris doesn't want to get buried, he better figure it out real quick.

Meh. They're also terrible with mediocre goaltending. I think we stack up pretty well against the Senators. I hope we score a touchdown again.

The Sens have some talent but they are young and inexperienced so the Oilers are a much better team. So as long as they come out to play, they should win.

Sens will go 100%, despite top skill advantage, Oil need to match the effort if they expect to win, as always.. but they tend to forget this vital ingredient sometimes..

We should be able to beat the Sens even if they come out strong and score a couple. The Flames looked like dog turd last night except for about 15 minutes of the game and they took it to OT.

Sens should be really good....in 3 years. Fragile. 3rd string tender (our nemesis) and on a back to back.

We usually only give up first career NHL goals. Why not a first career NHL win?
