Back to sub par goaltending, otherwise they played well enough to win this.

Same old story: the team couldn’t outscore its mistakes. Yes, they need a goalie, but they also need a bonafide top-pairing D-man.

Yeah, they need a Pionk or a Holl to shut down other teams top players

Shots 45-24. Lose 6-5. Not good enough. We need the routine saves to be made, but we also need a big stop now and then. We’re just not getting it.

That said, result notwithstanding, what a fun game to watch.

Doesn’t seem fair.

He has less stink on him than the other guy.

Of course, 11/13 isn't great either and I would have liked him to have that last one. But yeah - Smith stunk tonight.

It was way more than goal tending, guys could not for the life of them get the puck out of their own zone, starting with the D, and magnified by the forwards. Kahun was especially brutal, Tippet agreed.
Missed Lagesson's steadiness. Hope he's not hurt bad, he's a good partner with Larsson.
Played really dopey, looked like they thought they were a top tier team, forgetting they have go out and actually play like one, lots of lackadaisical efforts. Jets forecheck totally overwhelmed them, Oil D were scrambling all night.

Bad game.

The shots were 45-23. We had control of the puck for a huge portion of the night. This was NOT a terrible game top to bottom. Agreed that Kahun wasn't great, but the team overall was pretty good...but didn't get any saves, and Winnipeg got a lot more of them.

No, not top to bottom, but the usual suspects nullified the efforts of the guys that actually came to play. Lot of spectators, weak efforts, in the D zone.

Sadly I think it's us or the Jets. We need a tender and we're a contender.

Imagine us with Markstrom...why didn't Holland get that one done again? Weren't they $500k apart? So close.

Nope. A goalie would fix that. Jets got walked. Hellybuck lets in 5 and was still the winner.

We have a goalie and we are B- Cup threat. Without? Best bet is we sneak into the playoffs in the weakest division.

It was term. Calgary was offering 7 years, Holland only 6. Wouldn’t budge on that, apparently.

Darn straight it’s a Must Win.

I go back to Smith. 3 of those 4 goals, the pylons in front of him were horrible defensively. I think Smith also has better, bounce back appeal than Koskinen.

Smith and Kosk are splitting Calgary later this week. That’ll be fun. *nervously holding in a fart*

Given Tippett's stated preference for a 2 & 2 system and Smith completely crapping the bed last night, I think we see Koskinen for the next two and Smith the two after that.

So you’re thinking, based on his comment, we see Kosk Wednesday and Friday then Smith Saturday?

I looked at the schedule to see if there was a ‘good’ time to be with just Smith or Koskinen for there to be the least impact to a single goalie system while we wait for a Gibson to get through quarantine but then thought to myself that it was a waste of time because Holland won’t do anything to bring in a goalie in season

Back-to-backs against Calgary this weekend isn't it? He may want to split the starts which would mean Koski tomorrow and Friday, and then Mike "Mr. Saturday Night" Smith on the anchor leg.
