I don’t foresee any changes to our D, barring (the seemingly inevitable) collapse. I think those making the decisions like the Koekkoek-Larson pair, along with (when he’s on his game) Bear with Nurse. Also would be surprised if they yank Kowboy after his stabilization and there’s no way they sit Barrie. Barring injury, I don’t see a change.
I expect Bouchard is the one sent down when Haas is ready. The timelines will match up, I suspect. Quine will go down when Neal is back and either Nygard or Chiasson to the TS.

Likely spot on.
If the current blend plays well through the next couple games then I will back off the Free Bouch campaign.
Its been a small sample size and last game was decent. There have been more bad than good.
I have said that Kowboy (I like it, I am using it) has played well but history tells me it isnt a long term solution.
Larsson has not been good. I doubt it will turn around.
Nurse has been pretty bad but his spot is safe as him bad is still better then most Oiler options.
I like Bear, I think he is going to have a decent long career but his ceiling is a strong second pairing guy or the stabilizing half of a top pair with an elite offensive talent.
Jones has shown he isnt quite there yet. I have doubts he will be.

I would also wager that Koekkoek’s presence and foothold on a spot hindered Bouchard’s path for ice time.
I think our thoughts on the D are fairly aligned. I would like to see what Bouchard has for the big stage, see where he is in development. To go along with the aforementioned, are we sure the fragile psyche of this team can withstand the trial period of a dman in this shortened season? Bouchard playing is better than Bouchard on a taxi squad, so I expect he’ll go to Bakersfield.
Sure would have been great if the Oilers partnered with one of the Canadian AHL teams for the year. C’est la vie.
