The @EdmontonOilers have placed Mike Smith on LTIR.
He will be out a minimum 10 games or 24 days.
Olivier Rodrigue has been recalled from Europe to Taxi Squad but will need to quarantine
Per, Stauffer and everyone in the hockey world.
Buckle up boys. She’s gonna be a wild ride here.
Add: Everyone and their mom seems to be awfully quiet as to what the issue is here. I expect Holland will make a move here, somehow, someway.

How the hell does he go from sitting on the bench totally fine night 1 to LTIR 2 days later with not doing a single practice or even a freaking skate. Did he slam his hand in the door? Slip on an ice patch? Wrestling with his kids and one kid gives him a knee drop? This is bizarre.

New guy has to quarantine? So possibly just running one goalie? That seems...not right.
Well either way, I'll keep the ring tone on my phone up to max just in case. Sure I haven't tended goal in a decade, and I wasn't good then either. But there are some Toronto games coming up, so we should be good 👍🏻

I hadn't realised that Rodrigue was over in Gratz. They'd signed Ben Bowns the GB netminder in the summer, but he injured his knee after only a few games. It looks like Rodrigue was signed as cover for him, went 10-10 in 23 games over there. Hopefully he'll not be needed to much, but the experience of being around an NHL team might do him so long term good.

I guess Mike figured that screwing us in the play-in round wasn't enough. He thought he'd screw us to start the year as well.
This Mike Smith experiment has been an absolute mess.
